Please add airfields

forcing planes to land and take off from airfields will help nerf the how effective CAS is, since right now CAS can single handily decide a match, and i don’t know about anyone else but as for me i don’t find it fun to be forced into an airplane to be air patrol

While it cannot decide the match (unless you are bf 110 in Normandy), CAS is making their passes far too quickly.

We already have gears modeled and reloading in the air is just stupid and pure arcade mode thus I´m in support for having airfields, but as tradeoff for extended time and skill pilot needs, render distance of ground targets needs to be increased a bit to not make aircraft unplayable.

But I must warn you, this idea is highly unpopular in these waters, so I wouldn´t expect much of it.

that is a fine trade off for making planes spend alot of time away from combat

Wouldn’t Americans have to fly back across the channel tho?

CAS effective? You barely see anything in ground without being too close especially when your team is full of incompetent players that can only run straight lines or hide in bush and dont report enemies!

This - it is infuriating when you spawn in a plane - maintain air superiority and not being effective becasue your team mates dont know how to mark inf locations. Plus when you can only see what is on the ground at 150m causing your elevators to get one shot by a coax or mounted mg

do i need to explain that an a-20, or bf110 can stop a full on assault without much risk? or the fact that bf110’s rockets are basically noob tubes as they can just land in your general area and kill you? or maybe the fact that they will add more CAS focus planes like thunderbolt which historically had both bombs and rockets

Having to land to rearm and whatnot would NOT work in this. At least not how the game modes/ matches are built. You would get like a couple rearms and the match would be over. It would suck and in my opinion, CAS is pretty under powered. Pilots are basically in their own little world compared to what is going on on the ground.

How I look at the whole ‘rearming in the sky’ mechanic is more so simulating that there are multiple pilots in the air all doing strafing runs. It’s also a hell of a lot better than the aircraft being able to rearm themselves at will.

If you are going to require planes to return to airfields then you also should require infantry and tanks to return to ammo dumps and barracks - no more of namby-pamby building of ammo boxes and respawn points in convenient locations :stuck_out_tongue:

My idea of NERFing planes is give them more ammo but have them reload (for rockets bombs so won’t fire all at 1 strafe) and give them fuel mechanic like in war thunder (2 minutes or smething) then if u run out of fuel plane goes away

Adding Airfield would quickly render most of aircraft useless.

CAS is not Overpowered (unless we are talking about 110 and it’s rockets)
We already suffer from stupid render distance that limits us on finding targets and the current damage model allows planes to be shot down by a single hit.
CAS by no means can decide a match since all you need need is to build an AA and as long as it is alive, no plane will be making a second pass above the battlefield.
