Maybe it’s just me but I find that I am playing the battle pass instead of playing to update my squads… I have squads that I want to play and update but I also have tasks which tell me to kill x with smg or mg.
I find myself conflicted between play those squads so I can completing the tasks and advance in the battle pass and actually playing the squads I want to play so they can advance …
Something just doesn’t feel right about this. It’s like 2 parts of the game competing against each other and I wish it would all work in a more cohesive way …
Some way that I could play the squads that i want to play so they can be upgraded but at the same time be able to advance in the battle pass …
I usually switch out tasks, that require kills with a specific weapon, though. Unless it’s bolt-actions or grenades, because all my squads have them and I like using them.
Yes it seems to me that the devs group their BT lists by the amount of time it would take the average player complete them. They give you an easy task such as capturing 1 strategic point. Then they give you 2 intermediate or longer tasks that will take longer to complete.
And the longer tasks seem to be focused on making you play anywhere from 3 to 5 games in order to complete them. Such as play 3 or 5 games using allied or axis factions. This seems to be the pattern …
I would like to see them add more generic tasks to the list … those that don’t require you to kill x with a certain type of weapon. Also give us more options to select the task that we want to do as opposed to making it totally random.
Here are some examples of generic tasks they can add:
capture 3 to 5 strategic points in x game mode
capture 5 to 10 strategic points in any mode
win 3 to 5 battles with any faction
play 5 to 10 battles with any faction
I’d rather not have any more tasks about capturing points. They’re easy enough to do - unless you have to play as defender and then you can’t do shit.
Here are some, that can be completed regardless of faction or equipment:
X amount of headshots
X amount of kills with an enemy weapon
X amount of squad leader kills (i.e. enemy soldiers, that were actually controlled by real players)
Or maybe on one day they could just make all BP tasks “kill x amount of aircraft”, just as a fun little experiment.
I like your list of tasks … and as for capturing points keep in mind that the objective … at least from my observation …
The objective is to play more battles … usually 3 to 5 it seems. As for difficulty none of the tasks are really that difficult just time consuming and of course many of them require you to use a certain squad type to finish, which is what i would like to avoid …
The game would categorize the battle tasks according to a squads specialty. For instance all Bt’s for an smg squad or all bt’s for an Mg squad are grouped together.
Allow the player to select from his lineup which squads are a SIP ( squad in progress ) . Then when the game needs to roll for a new BT it selects those battle tasks from the same group as the SIP squad(s).
Doing this will allow the player to advance in the BP while also making progress toward upgrading the Squads in progress.
