Planting explosion packs

have you ever been standing on a roof of the tank with the last explosion pack you have? (making sure you dont waste it) from there you got a high ground on trying to destroy the tank, but the problem is - soldier can only throw the pack, meaning that from such a close range it will just bounce away…

so i suggest that packs can be planted on a tank, making sure it will be destroyed - should it stick on the tank or not, i dont really care, just that we can destroy the tank from close range easier

I remember in CS:GO, you could throw a grenade(right click) or u (left clicked) and it would just toss it at your feet sort of thing, would be nice to have that.

also if you are standing like 1 meter behind the tank and you throw the grenade it will bounce off, because soldier always throws it at full power (bounces off of course), would be nice to have some countermeasures against that as well

I was about to suggest that we should just have the option to just detonate it in our hands, but then suicide bombing on the ground would be as big a problem as it is in the air.

For some reason this gave me a thought: how weird would it be if the devs added those soviet anti-tank suicide mine dogs to the game? I would stop playing, I do not need a game where the good bois blow up.

suicide dogs werent widely used, maybe for april fools

Wasn’t there some thing, where they ran up to tank, and it stuck to tank, sticky something?

closest thing i know of that comes to my mind is japanese anti tank “spear”

Do you mean the dogs, or people? Magnetic and adhesive AT grenades and mines existed and were used, but the suicide dogs just had an explosive with a stick on top that would trigger when they dove under the tank, where they’d been trained they’d find food.

You can already did this. Just hug the enemy tank tightly and aim down heheh

Give russians AT dogs and germans should have goliats. Then make a “drone operator” class and squad to pilot those AT measures in the battle!

i just looked it was a sticky bomb, but it wasn’t around till Dunkirk times.
The sticky bombs used during World War II were originally produced by the United Kingdom . These hand grenades were designed as a solution to the shortage of anti-tank guns, which was evident after the Dunkirk evacuation.
Designed by a team from MIR(c) including Major Millis Jefferis and Stuart Macrae, the grenade consisted of a glass sphere containing an explosive made of nitroglycerin and additives which added stability to the mixture and gave it a squash-head-like effect, where the explosive deformed and spread out on the target before exploding. The detonation would be concentrated on a small area, rupturing a thicker armour plate than a more diffuse explosion. The charge was covered in a strong adhesive and surrounded by a sheet-metal casing. When the user pulled a pin on the handle of the grenade, the casing would fall away and expose the sticky sphere. Pulling another pin would arm the firing mechanism and the user would then attempt to attach the grenade to an enemy tank or other vehicle. Letting go of the handle would release a lever that would activate a five-second fuse, which would then detonate the nitroglycerin.

The grenade had several faults with its design. In tests, it failed to adhere to dusty or muddy tanks and if the user was not careful after freeing the grenade from its casing, it could easily stick to their uniform. The Ordnance Board of the War Department did not approve the grenade for use by the British Army, but intervention by the prime minister, Winston Churchill, led to the grenade going into production. Between 1940 and 1943, approximately 2.5 million were produced. It was primarily issued to the Home Guard but was also used by British and Commonwealth forces in North Africa, accounting for six German tanks. It was used by Allied Forces on the Anzio Beachhead, including the First Special Service Force; as well as by Australian Army units during the New Guinea campaign. The French Resistance were also issued a quantity of the grenades.

sorry to lazy to type this out, had to chuckle at this part though, sorry diggers,

At least not so far. It weighs 1.2 kilos, and we routinely huckem’ 30 meters like it’s just normal.

I think I’ve read somewhere that the tactic was abandoned because, among other things, dogs (following their training) had a tendency to go towards friendly tanks.

Which is plausible, because I guess dogs will more likely “identify” a tank by its noise and the smell of exhausts gas, than by its appearance. And I doubt training units had that many German tanks at their disposal to train dogs with.

I think this is best advice lol

Even looking into Japanese Lunge mines, you still dead, may as well do as above

Yes. It should be updated to act this way too. I agree. +1.

The fast stupid solution is this - take your explosion pack in hand - prepare to throw it - and immediately change it to your gun. Explosion pack should drop just in front of your feet.

Yes, sticky bombs, magnetic bombs, whatever.
I hate throwing TNTs, at least if there was an indicator. I have several troopers with grenade perk and really thinking about dropping it because it changes the trajectory a lot. Just happened to me that nice stationary tank was sitting nearby. I sneaked behind with whole squad approached its rear and instead of putting it just behind the turret I completely overshoot the tank which alerted the tanker and run away… :frowning: another time perfect throw and TNT bounces at the back of the tank and casually rolls over and falls down resulting in no damage… I also tried to throw TNT under the tank because there was very thin armor but it always results in no damage. The only place to blow a tank is to throw it at the top of the engine or close to the turret yet it is still pretty much gamble is sometimes it blows up instantly and sometimes it takes at least 2 TNTs to lit them up if the TNT stays on top of the tank.

I think this is very good, the sticking system where you throw the TNT, both on the tanks, on the walls etc.

Also the suggestion of the other friend there, the hotkey on the Right Bottom of the mouse, where he throws the grenade/tnt at your feet (short distance)

Yep, AT dogs were canceled relatively quick because of massive “friendly fire”. xD
