We need this option across all campaigns now. Just like bolt action buff. Planes need ability to repair. Let us fly to an airfield maybe 3000-4000m from frontlines and let us land to repair. I don’t know how many times im trying to provide CAS cover for team (and doing a good job most of the time) and just have to crash or despawn after taking out ai bombers. You help your team with killing them off and now your plane is crippled or damaged enough to where its no point in continuing to fly. Make is happen darflow.
I disagree with this proposal.
I do not agree with this proposal because a situation can arise where one player occupies an aircraft for a long time. This is not fair, and if the occupying player does not do his job well, the whole team is disadvantaged because of just one person. Also, every time he goes to make repairs, the air force disappears. This time will also be a nuisance to his allies.
The inability to repair an aircraft creates a positive cycle. Everyone gets a chance to fly the aircraft and the team becomes more tolerant if there are one or two poor pilots.
Instead, I offer another suggestion.
Allow wounded aircraft to make withdrawals and, depending on the low degree of damage, regain tickets expended during sorties. The pilot must then sortie with another unit, play infantry, etc., and wait for cooldown.
In this case, a bonus is given for the cooldown time.
This frees the aircraft from the fate that it must always crash at the end, and a good withdrawal will benefit the team.
I also think that having turnover in aircraft is a good thing. Getting a useless pilot occupying the attacker plane can be crippling for a team. If the other team doesn’t use AA or have pilots to shoot them down then they waste that slot for a VERY long time.
First we must have a ticket system.
for example.
Such mechanism does not conflict with airport and aircraft carrier maintenance. Players can choose to repair or redeploy as infantry.
You can’t force the player to turn into infantry, not even in current unlimited mode with no tickets right now because I have 3 planes and I just keep cycling through them.
If something called “Sinner’s Soul” exists in a game then that’s a good way to know I will HATE that game. Please, no.
It’s just a name, you can named it to anything you want.
and of course we don’t have magic and occult rituals here
So u expect them to suicide and lose 12 tickets for your team?
If I remember correctly, tickets are supposed to be consumed at the time of the sortie. In other words, the ticket has been consumed regardless of the death, already.
In other words, there is no way I would expect something like what you are describing.
Everyone is allowed to use the aircraft, even those who do not help the team have the opportunity to board. Everyone starts as a beginner.
But having an aircraft occupied for a long time by a player who does not help the team means that practically all the air power is lost.
The infantry will then be forced to spend more tickets. In some cases, perhaps more tickets will be consumed than if more than one player uses the aircraft.
The continued loss of air power is a much greater loss than the cost of aircraft sorties.
I think your suggestion whould be a great mechanics for tanks too.
I you can return tank on a spawn point, you could “return” it.
And then if nobody decides to take tank you could take it again with smaller cooldown and full crew.
Right now its kinda awkward that you have to spawn infantry squad and get in inside your old empty tank.
bro u don’t even get it.
You spawn, lose 12 tickets and than get dmged so you expect them to crash / bail out instead of continue. Or to your “everyone is allowed” u have 1 bad player crash just for another to get in and do the same, now losing 24-36-48 tickets in 5 minutes on useless hurricane/stuka suicide players for example.
Literally nothing u said changed my point.
No, it is you who do not understand.
First of all the example you speak of losing 48 tickets in 5 minutes is an extreme example. At the very least, most players try to stay alive as long as possible to make a difference.
(If you think I am contradicting my point here, that is a sign of your lack of understanding.)
I am arguing that it is the right cycle for them to do their best and then leave the battlefield. My argument is not “the bad players should die quickly” or “give up their seats immediately to the better players”. First and foremost, I am arguing that there should be equal opportunity.
Annoying players who repeatedly make pointless kamikazes are a real problem, and if they break the game, then they need to be dealt with. But that is a topic that has nothing to do with my point.
And you take issue with the 5 minute aircraft ticket consumption, but in total there are probably more infantry tickets lost during the time the incompetent occupy the aircraft.
Especially in a campaign like Normandy, if the Tigers are not destroyed by aircraft, countless infantry and tanks will be eaten by the Tigers. The ground troops may consume a hundred tickets while the incompetents fly for five minutes at a cost of twelve tickets. What happens if that lasts for 10 or 20 minutes? Do you pray that the ground troops can destroy the Tiger with dynamite or M9s? This is impossible if the Tiger are in the gray zone. With only one incompetent occupying the aircraft, the ground forces have no chance to change the situation at all and are defeated. It is better to have a situation where the pilots are shuffled around, even if it means spending 5 minutes of heavy ticket consumption. If you are lucky, the next person to sit in your seat may be a good pilot.
