Planes still soak up a lot of rounds with hardly any decrease in flight performance. I remember back in the days of IL2 in a 109 you could do high speed/high deflection/passing shots for quick fast kills, while maintaining speed in a BnZ situation. Here, it’s practically useless which negateswhat the 109 or any high energy fighter is good at. If you have good aim and .50s or 20s hit home, they should take the plane down.
Right now I feel like I’m wasting valuable time trying to kill planes, while wasting valuable energy in the process. Which just sets you up to die from new planes spawning in.
Afraid I have to disagree with you on this - the new damage model is perfectly fine at least as far as Moscow goes.
My Il-2’s get munched by 109’s and 110’s without much difficulty - I’ve been OHK-ed a few times, and even when not there ore often vast amounts of damaged structure that make the plane unflyable pretty quickly.
And 123’s can now be OHK-ed in return, and Stuka’s actually shot down inside of 1 ammo load.
Much better, and adequate for the job of an arcade game.
My sniper finished off one, with a freshly unlocked SVT, I emptied the magazine so it’s not OHK, but it was great to see it crashing. And actually it did not feel off, the plane was straight flying towards me for around 6-10 seconds so I had plenty of chances to compensate for bullet drop.
I also like the new model.
Yeah, damage models are good now too imo, as just yesterday i shot down Il-2 with just 2MGs from FW 189.
that is still just lucky!
I know, and i even tried Ju-188 yesterday after long time, as i refused to use it when it was plainly OP, and i got shot down really easily, so im glad for that.
