I have seen pilots on the ground and another plane spawn. Anyone know how that works? If I bail out with my 7 bomber crew, can my teamate spawn another bomber when my plane crashes? IE can 14 pilots be in game at once using one bomber slot?
As soon as you bail out of your aircraft, the slot is open again. It does not even have to crash.
So yes, there could be many fighter pilots currently alive but there will only ever be 1 fighter in active use per team.
What I am hoping is these guys bail out. My team mate spawns another one, I wait he jumps we spawn a third each dropping bombs. Is it possible to get 14 of these guys on the ground at one time is my question? 3 planes 21 guys = 5 assault squads worth of 50cal Tommys in a compact 3 squad format.

I don’t mind getting shot down in my B-25 as usually four to seven of them survive which gives me a nice assaulter squad once they touch down. So it’s like two squads on one ticket.
