People's Posts are Being Removed a Lot Lately

Has this happened to you recently: Your post has been removed because members of the community have flagged it? First of all, players should not have the power to remove other people’s post. A lot of these posts are being removed simply because other players disagree with the opinion of the person who posted it. Then, of course, there’s that group of people who are “offended” by almost anything.

I’m just curious how many others this has happened to. Please respond if this has happened to you, as well. And how many times has it happened?

I do have a solution for this that will meet everybody’s needs regardless of the side of the fence you’re on. I posted this solution in the “suggestions” section of the forum. The title of the solution is: “The perfect solution for people who get “offended” too easily.” If you think this solution will work, please leave it a “like” so we can stop this nonsense. Thanks!

AFAIK people flagging posts doesn’t remove them - it hides them until a mod can look at them - mods can decide whether to remove them or not

Actually never, the only time I recall something of mine getting flagged was kinda deserved. It happened because I said too much with one of my offensive replies, it got deleted and I received a week of ban after I got angry at one forum user after he unprovoked and without any reason called me a tank spammer (he never did that again to anyone so we good though)
I cant stand people who just jump into threads and accuse you of things without any proofs but just toxic intents. So yeah thats my experience with flagging.

My response post got removed yesterday. I was answering a post about what the Dev’s should do about their poor reputation, and I simply inserted a gif of a Japanese warrior throwing himself on his sword. That was the honorable thing at one time to do in Japan and meant as a joke, but apparently “it was offensive” and lacked community guidelines.

That’s the problem with people in world today, everyone is too easily offended. Whatever.

People just get offended too easily.

It is not medieval Japan here, and suggesting people kill themselves hasn’t been a “joke” for decades.

Perhaps you should read the rules - especially the bit about being civil - here they are: FAQ - Enlisted

Reading is not one of my strong points, and I grew up when a joke was a joke, not someone who is easily offended. If people can’t take a joke, that’s their problem, and if they want to remove my comment because someone is offended, I am perfectly fine with that as well, I won’t lose a minute of sleep over it. I am also not politically correct, and proud of it.

We have rules for a reason. The flagging system, although not perfect, allows us staff to review and take action accordingly. Users and staff members can flag posts because they go against the rules, or are outright offensive. Again, this is for good reason.

If this system didn’t exist, then the forum would become a nightmare hellscape where anything and everything could and would go. This isn’t 1990s Internet. Times have changed.

Accept the fact that your opinions or beliefs might offend someone, somewhere. If your post is flagged, hidden, or deleted, it simply means you’ve infracted the rules in some way.

I hope this helps.

I don’t think I saw that post, but it sounds hilarious; something I would do. It shouldn’t have been removed. Too many restrictions and nonsense—which is why I made my suggestion in the “suggestions” section (which would prevent this from ever happening again and allow people to say what they want to say).

Then let us “politically incorrect people” have our own section where our freedom of speech isn’t taken away, and those of us who understand what a joke is—yes, from the “olden times”—can actually enjoy what others have to say. I understand the rules are in place for a reason, but us “old farts” have a different frame of mind when it comes to restriction of speech (and what a joke is). Then, there’s no reason to close anybody’s posts ever again, and those people who are offended by words can enjoy themselves in the regular mess room—while us ancient people have our own mess room. It’s a simple solution where everybody gets what they want, and doesn’t require a whole lot of work.

This isn’t public though. It’s a forum where you sign up to agree to adhere to the rules dictated by the forum. Freedom of speech is irrelevant, because that doesn’t exist in a place where you sign up for. You agree to the rules.

It’s not about being “politically incorrect”, it’s about following the standards that the forum dictates.

Every forum, or Internet-based discourse has it’s own rules. If you fail to adhere to those rules, then your post is likely to be deleted/hidden/removed.

And speaking as an old fart, this shit isn’t hard to understand. Rules are rules. If anything, as an old fart, this shit should be gospel to you. We were taught better than these unruly kids of today. Set an example.

i’ve not found it hard to avoid insulting the developers while also criticizing their decisions.

I do think the idea of an unrestricted part is cool though.

Can you imagine TV shows like “All in the family”, or comedians like Andrew “Dice” Clay and Richard Pryor today? Half the US population would be so offended they’d have their panties wedged up their crack. When I am offended, I just don’t watch, simple enough.
