People Want A Madsen Alternative?

Hey all,

There’s a few different weapons that could be added to the Soviet TT as an alternative BR 2 LMG to the Madsen. I’m curious though, why does the Madsen get all of the hate that it does? It was buffed a while back and is pretty good now, at least in my limited experience with it.

Based on the feedback I get here, I will determine which weapon I write a weapon suggestion for in the near future.

Dunno, gets pretty stale to only play Madsen, its not even iconic.

Fair enough.

Either way, depending on what the community prioritizes (historical use, domestic design, differing feel/playstyle), there are alternatives, but nothing that would probably appeal to everyone.

Yes. I want an AVS. This weapon fits the Battle of Moscow framework, and automatic rifles were used as a replacement for light machine guns when there weren’t enough of them. I want an AVS with the machine gun class for BR2. (Maybe with some mg penalties. Let it be ZB with 15-rounds mag or RPK reskin.)

Madsen used to be absolutely disgusting to play. So was the Japanese spoongun. But after the recent update, they’ve become quite playable weapons.

It should be downtiered to BR 1. I do like my painted version though.

Tired of the Madsen, here is your answer. Other then the 15 round magazine, I love the RPK and maybe consideration should be given to adding it to the tech tree. Of course, It being a prototype would probably keep the Dev’s from considering it though.

As far as the Madsen, I hated it at first, but kind of like it now that it’s been worked on. That being said, other then my BR 2 APC, I only use four MG’s in BR2 for my Soviets, and the RPK takes up those four spots.

Don’t forget the TKB at BR3.

The devs aren’t really against adding prototypes to the TT. It’s usually a matter of whether or not a forum weapon suggestion has a majority of votes for TT weapon or not.

I get why people are against it, but Enlisted’s addition of period correct prototypes being a part of the sandbox is honestly one of it’s strengths, and those who wish for a more authentic experience can always create it in custom games.

Many years ago, they promised us such a mode. But now we all know what the developer’s words are worth. Instead of convenient functionality that allows you to create such a game with a couple of clicks, you have to spend a long time gathering two dozen reliable people who will definitely not ruin the experience. However, in this case, we have no opportunity to farm events (for example, I only come to play this garbage only for events). And using mods completely takes away all the farming. On top of that, someone has to create these mods.

I’m saying all this because I and many other people (I can’t say exactly how many) would really like this game to remain a WWII game.

I’m sorry, but it really pisses me off when people say I “can have an authentic experience in custom matches.” That’s not true. (For the most part)

My apologies, I didn’t mean to trivialize the historical accuracy enthusiast’s experience.

I did really try to push for the “Campaign Quickplay” idea that I had, since it offers that standard, but in a way that is also much more approachable for a new player, and wouldn’t have taken a lot of dev time to create.

Yes, I think I’ve seen this topics.
