When the Pacific campaign released the Devs introduced amphibious planes, but since then they haven’t done much with it. So I suggest the Devs bring the Catalina from war thunder for the Americans.

Top speed: 405 km/h

Armament: 2× 7.62 mgs and 2× 12.7 mgs

Bomb load? (Keep in mind it’s aiming for a br2 rating)

Adding the Catalina would be very easy for the Devs (since it’s a copy paste) and very interesting for players to use since we have very few seaplanes and no aquatic planes (capable of land and sea landing).

it would have to be 4x100lb bc 4x 500lb is OP for br2

Maybe it could be an air APC or something. Wasnt that what it was intented to or am I tripping

What a great idea - long range maritime patrol aircraft are obviously the perfect match for a small unit infantry land wargame - wonder why no-one thought of it already??

Absolutely - every aircraft should be equipped with armaments that it never carried!!

Well there is a parasol wing 1930’s fighter with 20mm cannon, and a I-153 with 20mm cannon…

And the 37mm COW gun fitted to a couple of biplanes in WW1 and the 30’s…

I would be fine adding PBY’s to the game, however, if there are enemy planes in the air, or competent people on the ground with AA guns I can’t see it lasting very long. :joy:

Or could be 4x250lbs - but still quite slow and big target, so offset with bomb load like that seems fair to me - even at br II. This thing would get sprayed with mg and at rifles - aspecially from japs

  • Guns:

  • 3 × .30 cal (7.62 mm) machine guns (two in nose turret, one in ventral hatch at tail)

  • 2 × .50 cal (12.7 mm) machine guns (one in each waist blister)

  • Bombs: 4,000 lb (1,814 kg) of bombs or depth charges under the wings; torpedo racks were also available
    ok which part of it was never used, the game is more about what could of been used and i am sure it dropped bombs in training
