Pathfinding needs an urgen solution

Soldiers try to go into some build by walking half of its around, totally exposing themselves to incoming enemy right infront of them just to enter the building from its main gates rather than simply getting into it by the window at its back.
They are just jumping on every object they found for god knows what code causing them to do.
Using bot units is a unique gimmick of this game but also the most neglected part.
Before pre high calibre update they were fine.
I dont know wtf happened but they went full monkee mode after high calibre and never recovered

I started playing this game after High Caliber, so I don’t know the old Enlisted, but if you watch gameplay videos from a few years ago on youtube, the bot certainly looks smarter than it does now.
They don’t go all the way around the building and do stupid things like enter through the front door where enemies have guns pointed at them, they enter the building through the back window right in front of them, they fire at enemies while moving, they don’t dawdle in front of approaching enemies and immediately return fire.
The current bots are so bad that when I enter an enemy building in single file and the enemy in front of me shoots me down, the bots behind me just daze around until the enemy finishes reloading.
I rush to switch to the surviving bot by tapping the Y key, but the moment I switch, I am killed. After repeating this about 8 times for a number of people, I finally respawn with another squad.
The bots are horribly incompetent and frustrating.

They’re mostly improving with the AI.

Things to remember though:

  1. Not all soldiers travel at the same rate - I’m not sure whether the devs have discovered the laws of physics yet, but they do gaming shit ok, so mind your perks because they’re more important than any weight factors. IF your soldiers spread out too far because of speed then the AI will try to path differently to keep squad cohesion, and your soldiers will run out of cover or start climbing shit and generally misbehave.
  2. Following on from just walking / running, they will also not climb or traverse obstacles as well, and ladders completely stuff them up in some cases. That’s why retards should not build spawns on 2nd floors of buildings or block doors with sandbags etc… The bots need it simple, and if you keep it simple, they will behave more consistently.
  3. Drive your squad like a semi trailer and take wide corners and they should follow without getting stuck on stuff. Avoid lots of crates and other nooks and crannies that can channel and trap them in a corner.

Play with the (Press Y) Q & E options to change your squad behaviour and they should perform more consistently depending on the terrain you’re in.
