Partisan / Resistance Unit

This is just an idea as there were non uniform members that fought one side for a given allied force. Just an idea that might spice things up a bit. Now I am not sure the benefit of playing with partisans but perhaps they would have some function of use… like perhaps cutting trees down for roadblocks or some other useful sabatogue function like rigging timed explosives or mining roadways… perhaps a bit like engineers but with a slightly different set of skills. Just an idea as I’ve been reading a bit about guerilla combat including during WWII so thought this might be an interest thing if game devs ever get board. I have history period docs that could outline some of the operations that partisans etc… were suggested to engage with for instance intelligence gathering, demolitions and quick raids for supplies. I envision them as being able to use submachine /tommy guns and pistols, but perhaps not as efficiently perhaps with less stamina. Perhaps having certain benefits for distance of observation or knowing enemy locations if they are large groupings stuff like that, and the ability to disable vehicles and such.

For backline attacks, we already have rally points. Explosives from TNT packs and mines. It’s also already possible to destroy enemy rallies and other equipment, as well as mark targets.

In short, it’s already entirely possible to fight guerilla style.

The most realistic hat can be done is to give them unique outfits and sell them as a premium squad.

Treecutting and setting up roadblocks etc… could be a useful ability… egg. explosive rigged roadblock. you find sandbags used a lot for this but partisans were taught to employ rigged downed tree or other obstacles.

Detroying a vehicle can be time consuming and waste ammunition some type of ability to sabatogue a vehicle would be useful. I’ve encountered transmission damaged cars periodically not sure if there is some way to do that intentionally or flatten a tire or turn a car into a firebomb.

Yeah just saying it might be fun for a change. I imagine them being a rarely used unit. IMO some type of game balance on maximum use per battle of certain units from battlefield to battlefield would be useful for game balancing. Although I understand from a wanked out game player who is paying to MDK everyone that they will want to use their favorite units over and over again rather than only have one use of their unit per battle unless they swap it out.

I dunno I enjoy the intelligent game play and frankly hilarious moments, the wanked out MDK stuff of just overwhelming force is pretty borning and if I were a ragegamer I’d probably have broken stuff due to mass bombings. IMO certain things get a little powerful so an ability to counteract the extreme ends of these wank methods like running the edge of a battlefield, or continuous air assault. Some ability to counter act these things would be useful as they unabalance the game.

Things like boobytraps can deter some of the non intelligent battle methods such as assaulters who leverage speed of kills - of course some way for the team to know that areas are rigged with bobby traps would be useful too.

None the less what is fun for me isn’t necessarily fun for the premium demographic. These are just thoughts Ive had while playing, I am not the programmer so frankly its all good.

Great idea, make Partisan relatively bad equipped, unable to cap point, but have their own spawn point behind the line :kissing_heart:, or able to spawn from any building like those on Company of Heros, and ignore the grey zone :grin:

This would be cool if we could capture wounded ‘combatants’ without uniform. There could be some special reward for bringing them to nkvd squads for ‘interrogation’
