Should this ability be for an elite/specific squad only?
Should both allies and axis have parachute landings?
Should parachute landings be map specific?
Most parachute landings were allied operations. If only the allies land(historicity) how would we balance this with the axis side? Rear reinforcements?
My thoughts:
If this were to be reasonable in invasion games there should be a good amount of soldiers jumping out as reinforcements after a point capture or during the beginning of the game. In conquest it’s whatever, probably going to be a mess.
I think it makes sense for an ai platoon/company to land with you, because you’re likely to get killed before reaching the ground depending on the landing point. These ai would act on their own will and have their own spawn markers or none, and would not affect player spawn markers.
All good questions/ points, and show why a parachute operation would be an entirely different game.
Why would anyone want this to be a clone of H&G is beyond me - or why they think it would be the same here as it was there - 2 different games that play differently and your experience on H&G should NOT be the same as your experience on here!
I think that, like radio operators, parachutes should be an equipment equipable by pilots (and paratroopers if they’re added).
Obviously, both allies and axis should be able to use this if added, but I don’t think specific parachute landings should be added, in order to help balance things out.
Hardly - they’d just be another cause for complaint…
“Why do my paras land so far apart?”
“The enemy shoot me when I’m dropping - NERF THEM NOW!”
“Why can’t my paratroopers steer themselves - it’s easy - I’ve got a video…”

no one want this to be a hng clone. it was stated that was a fun thing to do there.
it can work in this game if , we have proper maps to do so / objectives.
right now we have para squads on the ground, wouldnt be unreasonable to ask for a para drop from the sky. even if its just on one type of mission.
coz we stated hng, just imagine the possibilities if we used the campaigns to grind gear and squads, and there was a war map rts style like hng where said squads and gear could be used on a end game war batle… that would make this game on a diferent level than current - play - gun - repeat.
no one want this to be another copy of another game, but currently we have abilities in game that were a direct copy/idea improved of another ww2 game. for example the engineer stuff from btf5 around the map (more freely here) , btf5 had invasions that stated as a para drop, and worked just fine if we forget about the game around it.lol
parachute is great but no really needed… would be able to deploy only in really small fighting area and in grey it would kill ya !
also parachute would just encourage more suicide bombing : drop planes and parachute on obj !
Better thing would be Airborne squads droping in the battlefield on plane with parachutes !
