I’ve seen a couple topics about this and it might have already been looked over by the Devs but, I think a nice addition to the game would be a squad of like 4 - 7 parachutes that actually fly over and drop behind enemy lines would make a nice addition especially for the Invasion of Normandy (D-Day for a big starter) above all since the Allied side of the faction is basically un-winnable it would be nice to use them kind of like spawning a bomber or so but the plane has its own pilot and you could direct which point from the attacking side you’d like to spawn them to basically just fly straight across the map. There could even be a force drop so after a certain point your men will jump out so you don’t fly too far. Of course there would be issues with getting shot down in the air quite easily or other factors in play that would deny this, and forgive me if this has already been mentioned numerous times but I’ve recently wondered if they’ve considered this as potential part of future development. I think it could be used as a nice distraction for your team to advance or to drop an Engineer to hopefully get a decent rally point up if he survives the slow fall to the ground, or even synchronizing with a friend or squad mate to pull a fighter/bomber pilot to help escort the units’ safe descent to the ground All comments are welcomed and appreciated
I have high hopes for the future of this game and hope it becomes a big success for the developers as it would be much deserved. Apologies for the very long read!
Doable and more beneficial for the game than one would think.
Assaulrer 1/2 are airborn division the german both in normandy and berlin have parachute squad they are already in game
What you are describing is a para-cancer from Heroes and Generals. The end result is people landing and camping from trees. Capping points without breaking flanks. Landing on top of tanks with explosives. Its more of a troll gameplay than a cool feature.
I really like this idea, the fact that the defenders would have to look ahead and up might make things challenging.
But paratroopers on DDay would be great, no control of plane, slow dropping for Paras, mean it could be fun distraction, the drops themselves would need to consider grey zones, spawns.
As for det pack from above, it could be disabled, not sure if Paras actually could defend themselves until they hit the ground.
I don’t think that you have thought this through. If a group parachutes behind enemy lines and somehow doesn’t get killed while in the air….they are now OoB and only have seconds to live before getting inbounds on their section of the map.
Any engineer that survives the jump, likely won’t have time to build a rally because…HE IS OUT OF BOUNDS. If he does build a rally, any troops that spawn on that beacon WILL BE OUT OF BOUNDS.
Also, the beacon goes “beep beep beep” and will be destroyed quickly because it IS IN ENEMY TERRITORY.
It would make more sense for the devs to scatter usable vehicles around the map that could be used by soldiers with AT weapons or TNT to quickly advance into the grey zone to destroy OoB tankers camping for easy kills.
If this would be implemented does that mean they could just land and camp near enemy tank spawns, plant Anti Tank mines there or make rally points behind enemy lines? That’s too much of advantage and also would make gameplay hectic, unballanced and for one side very annoying and unenjoyable, so nope.
I think that parachutists or ‘MoH Airborne’ Idea could be used in some new campaign with map sizes at least on par with Tunisia but I don’t think Airborne idea have really place left in existing campaigns.
That’s exactly kind of junk paratroopers devolve into. At least in Heroes and Generals. I don’t see a way how it would be different in Enlisted. Besides just giving such squad a separate spawn point some where on the edge of the flank.
Paratroopers don’t jump into a middle of the active battlefield. They are dropped behind the front lines, typically to disrupt logistics of the enemy. Having them attack German defense line, from behind, on Normandy beaches, is just an insane idea. And a really annoying one for the defending side.
The far right side of the map is usually where allies go anyway, it would just add to immersion, paradropping would awesome, but think existing map is too small, or if it was like it is now, I could see a tank or mg squad farming any brave allied troops…
