I remember all the bug posts on Stalingrad bombers, but they are relatively easy to shoot down now so you can make a difference attacking their formation.
Now pacific allied or axis bombers are so fast, barely enough time for you to shoot down, plus emptying whole clips barely get a smoking engine.
I think there may be damage drop off for these, at say 100-150m on this campaign, on other campaigns mgs on planes have much higher range, but here you have to be close, if <100 you can make floatplanes catch fire with a short burst, if far away smoke and crash later.
But to get back on track, I can be at right altitude and right speed for enemy bombers, but hellcat with it’s 12.7 does nothing even close, Zero with cannons also seem weird, plus very easy to run out of cannon ammo on zero, before you shot down bombers.
All I am trying to do is shoot middle two, on Stalingrad it’s easy!

Also they fly over the mountains so they are extremely high and hard to reach.

High for the seagull but whenever I’m in the Japanese floatplane they’re at the altitude I prefer to operate at. Like 500m.
Speaking of the Japanese floatplane, how effective is it to “tenno heika niconiconiii” them
I have same isue on normandy with 109s FW seemed ok last I knew. But god dam use JU188 puf puff plans dead lol I love the dam thing. Funny as hell cause 109s and FW has the same dam guns and 3 hits from a JU188 kills them like they wher noting. Regaurdless 109s and FW arnt even worth flying espesaly the 109 G10. thers so many of the Axis plans with out bombs or rockets I think it was like 8 on all campains. I think alied only had 2 with out bombs and rockets and they wher on that jap campain.
this isn’t about player control planes, this is about the bombing runs in a campaign you will not ever play

Well the difference between Stalingrad and the Pacific is that you can act “immidiately” in Stalingrad. Jump into a plane which starts on a certain altitude and chase them down. For the pacific campaign you start from the ground, it takes way longer to reach the altitude plus the guns are not that good.
I saw only once a bomber falling in the pacific but thats it.

The bombers in the pacific also have to fly much higher than in Stalingrad because of the mountain range on the islands.
This forces fighters to climb to intercept, and means that the lead markers don’t appear for the AA gun until the planes are almost directly overhead. Since AA guns overheat so quickly now it makes it that much harder to target and hit the bombers before dropping.
The overheating mechanic has also significantly reduced the effectiveness of SPAA in shooting down planes of any typ to the point of uselessness.

If you want to do bomb runs play Ailed normandy lol. in the P47 with 10 rocks pluss a 500 pounder. And if you got a buddy he can add anoughter 4 rockets ontop of that with his P38 lol Its the equvlant to the same thing. I could have flown this like the BF 109 G 10 lol but dam that tank camper was to much to pass up lol
If ya want to kill plans.
Use this >:)
