It goes both ways. I think people got bored of easy wins as allies and migrated away from that team.
Yeah, pacific is incredibly bipolar in how the playerbase is split between the sides right now. There are a few trends, but honestly if you just play it feels like there is almost no consistency in which side is more populated. Yesterday Allies stomped, today Axis stomps, who knows about tomorrow. However, I much prefer this to how it stagnates in other campaigns, and I would rather it stay like this because it makes things exciting.

That campaign’s playerbase is a mess. As worse as Tunis.
Even in EEU server with 3x soviet faction campaign, player split is not so severe.
Play axis.

I may be masochist, I play with any serve option on and after being so easy with Axis I decided to do not care to my rating and play only allies. My mentality is the following: yes I know there is balance issue so I decided do be a nice guy and play only allies to have a high level squads and campaign. I can tell you, after level 16 the game change, I played multiple games that basically me and other random dude stomped axis using white phosphorus Granades or flame trowers plus Sbd CAS. Also I train to teach the boogies in the chat saying what to do.
This is my way to help the game to get better and help the community

Oh, I thought it was the Russians. Please pardon me, as I have little to less experience with the other campaigns other than the Pacific.
Ohh, my highest is only in the Japanese side which amounted to 180 kills and highest tank kill would be at 9, in one match (Although I just top normally at 30-80 majority of matches.) I might switch to US after completing the Japanese campaign, as the tanks there are more enjoyable as well as their bar gun when I picked it up. I really enjoy the pacific as matches can be both sweaty and just chill sometimes, plus they are frankly more infantry friendly (if we forget about the m13 spam so much, lol.)
Here is my most recent match which had like 12 tanks consisting of 2 stuart’s, 1 lvt, and 9 m13’s. With experience and good placement like what Broody and Roboz did, which was basically was overlooking our spawn while also hiding behind a rock/object to conceal the whole body at long distances it is a bloody nightmare for the Japanese; a ta-se would be easier to counter due to the heads just going about and a slow fire rate can’t really mow down that quickly as a 4 x 12.7mm.
Now picture this, most of my team are new too. They might haven’t even gotten passed to get an AT rifle and their only option is to rush in, though what if let’s say they are not on the zone? Then it’s pointless. Why not build a gun placement then? Well, here’s the deal, you will need to research that as well on the engineers, which takes time too. Why not shoot the gunner? With the tiny head pixel, I doubt it’ll be that easy once it sees you shooting at it cause of the tracers and impact of the round. Heck the ta-se is easier to take down cause the heads pop up more.
Now you might be wondering, oh but I got lots of kills and killed most of them. Well, I am already where hitting certain points where you can ammorack an m13 with a full crew with an AT gun and explosion pack is easy now, since I got experience plus halfway through researching Japan. But saying the Axis is OP is kind of iffy. The stats will show on the ranks on the Allies on this image and how m13 spam at the lowest rank is just pain and easy to rake up kills on unsuspected newbies, plus I forgot to mention, there was a plane bombing us as well; I can’t deal with a plane and 2 m13’s while capturing an objective, lol.
So, no. Axis Japan on Pacific, is not OP.
