P-38 has better characteristics than BF110 if you are speaking about J version. And better G version only in climb rate.

Since the P-38G is an attacker by game limitations but doesnât have 21cm rockets. The M8s are anemic by comparison. One of these planes ends up feeling useless to the guys on the ground, the other can dominate a battlefield pretty handily.
As for the J-model Lightning, I didnât mention it because it is hardly ever used, but as a fighter it is hopelessly outclassed by its equivalent BF109. Seeing as the game considers it a fighter, it is inferior to its DE competition. It may have a small set of mediocre rockets, making it a better attacker than the G-10, but it is still generally worse at its primary role.
The maneuverability difference between the 109 and P-51 is hardly noticeable because of the way Enlisted air battles are (usually) fought: low and slow. Since the 109 has centrally mounted guns and bombs, it is more likely to hit its target than the Mustang, and because the guns are higher caliber theyâre more likely to get the job done. It has a good turn radius and good energy retention, and I mostly need to ambush one to kill it. Luckily this is mostly easy because so many players use it like an attacker and fly in straight lines between the battlefield and the reload point.
Bottom line, my point still stands. Germany generally has better fighters, USA generally has better attackers. This is balanced well enough for me. Complaints about the Thunderbolt are not warranted. Itâs okay for USA to have at least one type of hardware thatâs better than its DE counterpart.

â¤Ju-188 flies better than the A-20, only downside is no guns, granted the A-20 is faster
â¤american M2 carbine is unusable at anything past spitting distance
â¤Johnson LMG is missing even though it was made for the same purpose as FG42

The P47 has a really good load of ordnance for killing infantry, and if youâre good enough, that bomb is great for killing tanks, which is necessary to counter the supremacy of the panther at the moment. Itâs well armed for dogfights, too, and it needs to be. Itâs a fast, heavy bastard that doesnât like turning. the assertion that the P-47 is more maneuverable than anything else flying is nonsense, the p38s in game both turn better, not to mention the p51 (all of which feel less nimble than the IL2 in moscow, but thatâs off topic.)
Itâs not really missing. Yeah, they could add it, but IRL it only saw service in Europe with special forces, much like the FG42 was only issued to Fallschirmjager, and only one per squad. If theyâre going to add it, Iâd rather see it be a more mobile LMG choice, and Iâd like to see FG42 moved to gunners as well.

I know, however, germany gets FG42 on all soldiers, and itâs insanely strong, as such, I see no problem with giving the Johnson to all US soldiers.
After all, they were both specialized guns, for the same purpose, given to only a few irl, while in-game anyone can use the FG42.
I doubt that FG42 will ever get restricted. Giving the johnson to americans across the board seems like a good compromise.
