Overheating Machine Gun Tanks

I know they’re rubbish, I know they’re no good, but I think the nerf to the machine gun, except for the Japanese ta-se (and it’s still horrible as an anti-aircraft, please give us something else), since they overheat too quickly

They need to rework overheat or remove it entirely from finite ammo MG’s

Tank MGs should be rebuffed and HE spamming reduced. That would lead to a much more healthy gameplay.
Furthermore I thought about the idea to separate Tanks into battle tanks meant to fight other tanks and support tanks against infantry. Battle tanks should have much less HE Munition. It should be something special for them to shoot HE.
If course in return MGs shall be buffed.

There is nothing like “HE spamming”, otherwise we could be speaking of rally point spamming or infantry spamming.

Yea tank firing HE is pretty normal otherwise there would be AP spamming and rifle spamming

How does the existence of AP spamming follow from the existence of HE spamming?

Apart from that AP and Rifle require precise actions from the player. Hence it can’t really be spammed because they are both strongly limited by the average human capabilities.
One the other hand, HE does not require much skill or care to do. You just got to shoot in the approximate direction you saw a guy in the bushes and bang 10 kills. Then repeat. Any player with at least 2 intact neurons can do this.
Or one can just endlessly fire in to the cap point.

  • Does not work with all cannon types. Good luck trying to kill 10 people with 37mm cannons.
  • Unlike mines, only one class can spawn tanks and only two at the same time.
  • Tanks have more counters than mines to the point it is getting ridiculous that even the pros here struggle with them. Even AI can attack tanks while they cannot destroy or even see mines.
  • Tanks cannot attack certain areas without exposing themselves. E.g. Berlin Ministry because they cannot attack routes or CP without getting greeted by Fäuste.
  • Tanks have more cooldowns than mines because mines only have like five seconds activation time plus one second of deployment.
  • HE shells sometimes do not even explode because of weird degree rules.
  • HE shells are bugged and sometimes do not even hit anyone while mines are bugged in terms of S-mine sinking into ground while still killing enemies.

(Btw. I’m now a bit unsure, do you mean Anti Personal mines with AP? Because I thought you guys were speaking about Armor Piercing rounds.)

Apart from that you are not different at all. Your are just crying about something different, mines. They are annoying for sure but nothing more.

And if you were listening, I did not propose to universally limit HE across the board. But more of a split of tanks into Anti-Tank and Support roles. Similar how Fighters and Bombers work. Noone wants to hurt your lil 3.7cm guns.

And in situation like the ones in Berlin you mentioned, the solution would be just not playing tanks. This game is about infantry and if it happens to be unfeasible to play as tanker than that is not the end of the world. Not everything is meant to excell in every thinkable situation.

Dumb.
The term MBT wasnt a thing until the Cold War and does not even make sense with your term.
And by this logic a StuG would be a MBT, which is not only dumb because it is a SPG (at least later models), but also because the StuG was meant to deal with tanks as well as support assaults of infantry. And tanks like the Panzer IV E were still medium tanks.

And its getting dumber.
Pretty sure comparing apples to bananas makes bananas apples. The terms/ categories existed during WW2 and unlike most tanks, (most) bomber planes could not do the same jobs as fighter planes while some fighter planes could still do CAS.

Yes because DF is not that dumb to treat tanks like planes.

This is why people can kill you with all kinds of explosives and tactical equipment

and thats why I am trying with this suggestion take rid of the overheat in machinegun tanks who dont have lot of ammo for shoot
