Before the merger, Italy and Great Britain were playable nations, but after the change, some squadrons became impossible for new players to obtain. This means that new players will never be able to have a British engineer squadron, an Italian assault squadron, or use the Italian 75/32 M41 tank destroyer in an Italian battalion, etc.
Therefore, I propose something that benefits the company, will make the players happy, and will not affect the loyal players who have been with the game since its humble beginnings (since they will now be able to have even more squadrons from their favorite nation):
Giving us the ability to change the nationality of squads so that everyone can play with these secondary nations, changing the squad’s nationality to a new one with the same stats. I propose adding a nationality change button to the squad upgrades tab, similar to the one we have for soldiers, with a cost. I propose the equivalent of the cost of outfitting the entire squad in appearance change orders, which, according to my calculations, would be 112 orders for 8-man armory squads (128 if we include the gloves from some campaigns), taking into account the most expensive pieces. This would generate a profit of more than $5 per squad, although it’s up to you to set the price and method for this feature. *The change could be reversible
Since I see that it could be chaotic, I propose that it only be possible with regular squads, not vehicle squads; I would add it to the post but the time allowed to change the text has passed
Yes, that was my idea. Also, I think it would be better if it were only possible with regular squadrons, not vehicle squadrons. I’m going to redo the post.
I think it would be best if the vehicle squad could do this too. Otherwise, there will be clothing misalignment issues between American and British pilots and tank crews.
Not because it doesn’t generate any profit for them; after all, it’s a business, and it would only involve creating a new insignia and name for the alternate squads, since the clothing is recycled.
The problem I complain about is that a pilot wearing British clothes cannot fly a meteor. It’s precisely because American squads are prohibited from using British clothing, but if it were completely open, it would lead to confusion, so it would be better to allow switching factions.
I completely agree with your perspective. Games inherently have such issues, so why can’t the development team make changes? For instance, there are currently issues within the game where German tank crews are driving Italian tanks, German pilots are flying Italian aircraft, British pilots are flying American fighter jets, and American tank crews are driving British tanks. My suggestion is to introduce squads specifically designed to unlock and develop weapons/vehicles from corresponding countries (such as Britain and Italy). Many of these squads have already appeared in past campaigns, so it’s entirely feasible to modify some data codes to achieve this. This not only enhances historical immersion but is also friendly to new players who haven’t obtained squads from the past
Developers do this because of pressure from players; to feel they have something of value, they prevent others from getting something similar at all costs. Human selfishness is never lacking; that’s how everything works: for a few to win, many must lose.
I like it, but would propose the change would be a branch on the squad upgrade tree, and cost a squad upgrade change order instead of haircut tickets. Swapping nationalities would give you the “default” appearance for the whole squad.
Also, Canadians when? Add a GB Newfoundland squad at least:
