It’s always fun when the enemy armor sits outside the playable area of the battlefield and just rains down destruction so that they can get all kinds of kills, but you can’t touch them with artillery or even an explosion pack. It’s especially fun on Gorge, where the enemy armor can just sit up on the cliff, or the bridge, and beat the piss out of your troops.
Especially when it is something like Grant that is immune to most AT long range weapons and only option to deal with it is dive bomber or another end camp tank and those are often not available.
Yes. I have to agree. Because, nothing annoys me as much as the urge to do a tactically good flanking, but suddenly hitting the Gray zone. And even worse, if you try to scrape camper tank out of there.
There’s a very game-breaking element here that really needs to be fixed asap, if you ask me.
Opening up gray zones for infantry will cause tons of new problems which no one wants but opening up the map for arty could be good idea
Please specify which ones? Because I think the complete opposite. Greater tactical opportunities will be opened up. The map will be fully utilized, as we have now memorized some of the attack routes, with the result that there is a feeling that the maps are getting smaller than they actually are. One should only change the capture point positions wisely, not do the same few attacking arteries, that everyone has already memorized big time.
For example, squads with explosive packets camping near enemy tank spawns.
Planting mines on roads in front of enemy tank spawns
Building rallies basicaly everywhere, even already 40m from next objective
Quickest players already would camp in attics of next enemy objective, set up anti-personel mines, easy win
And there will be more bad sh1t unrevealed, if this happened, which i can’t imagine at the moment.
Overall matches would become big mess, linear gameplay would be completely gone and it would become contest who could sabotage/fcuk up enemy team the most before it even got to objective.
people complain but the problem is that the maps themselves favor camping, fix the maps solve the problem
Forgive me, but I can in no way agree with such thoughts. Everything you list would exist to the current game model. No one talks about “just open the gray zones,” it’s much more important to come up with how to use the map wisely. Capture zones can change, tank spawn can be completely different depending on the course of action and so on. Linear gameplay is a super boring thing, and destroys all flanking or tactical elements, while just allowing you to camp at certain memorized points and give nothing to your team.
Nothing like a good 500kg bomb shoved up a grants butt to get him off grey zone.
Exactly, even less people would go for objective then. Many will be just camping enemy spawn or blocking it with engineers.
I think the changes would need to be made on a map by map basis. Maybe set a timer? If you are parked in a camping zone for a specific period of time, and registering kills, then the system disables your guns? I’m not sure what the fix is, but something definitely needs to be done, because if this continues, I believe the only people still willing to play the game in a year will be the campers.
