One of the best Tunisia matches I've ever played. Down to the wire

So here we are… the attacking team, who was getting our asses kicked for the first three objectives.

Just when you would think the battle was lost, things got really interesting.

We ended up winning, after being down to ZERO tickets at two different times. Of which, I recorded some key moments from the 3rd objective thru the 5th, and the following videos are from my perspective from within the battle.

The overall outcome was a team effort.

As I shared from yesterday’s thread, regarding the benefits of utilizing the shovel and digging holes/trenches. This battle is a great example of when a shovel can come in handy.

(For reference)

First video: Rushing the 3rd cap and immediately digging a large hole for teammates to use for cover/concealment. Of which, I was able to survive a carpet bombing directly from overhead.

2nd: Rushing towards the 4th objective

3rd: Reached the objective, and immediately got a hole dug for teammates who also make it to the objective. Down to 142 tickets

4th: Still trying to cap. Down to 82 tickets.

5th: Down to ZERO tickets.

6th: Capped the 4th objective. Now it’s on to the final capture point, with only 167 tickets remaining

Last video: Capping the last objective, with ZERO tickets remaining.
And I was down to my last soldier.

And here is the scorecard:

This was the type of match that many people look forward to, when they log in to the game.
Matches that go down-to-the-wire are what brings people back for more.

Feel free to share your own story, if you’ve ever had a match that had you on the edge of your seat, as your team was down to the last soldiers, and you managed to squeeze a victory.

Nice! :+1:

I’m in no way a professional team carrier, but I’ll take the chance to share two recent episodes where I could really feel my actions made the difference.

One in Moscow, Allies, attacking on invasion. I did not perform exceptionally well in that one, in fact I placed in the middle of the scoreboard and admittedly the rest of my team did most of the breakthrough effort.

Yet, I did my part by actively hunting down a few sneaky rally points, that some smart German somehow kept building in such positions that they remained active even after we had pushed through, so we kept suffering counterattacks from some random shacks on our back throughout the whole game.

Until I either shot the damn rallies, or MINED them -(evil laugh)-

In the end, my last hunting raid proved to be crucial, because thanks to bushes cover and a few well placed rifle grenades I managed to reach and take down the closest (and apparently only) enemy rally near the final cap, from which heavy resistance had kept coming. Just in time to give my team precious seconds of rest, since we eventually capped and won with 0 tickets left.

Second story will follow (long post).

Sometimes it’s the smallest actions, that make the ALL the difference between a victory and a loss.

I think the appropriate word is Clutch

This other one was a few days ago on Normandy Allies, attacking on Airfield (ykes!)

Here, I dare say that I DID carry, by cycling through infantry, tanks and planes, always running to build a rally ASAP and then providing the heaviest fire support I could bring.

The match:

Summary

At first it looked like it was going to be one of those easy wins for Axis, with Allies “stuck in the mud” at the very first cap. I set up a rally across the runway, but Germans kept fending off our waves with ease, also thanks to effective support by tanks and CAS. We quickly ran down to roughly half tickets, and counting.

Then, after a few successful CAS runs, the team unexpectedly managed to seize the first point. Germans apparently were caught by surprise while expecting us to having given up, because the second cap in the small barracks fell in a very short time with almost no resistance. With that and some balloons busting, in a matter of minutes we went from getting decimated to back to 1000 tickets.

US morale was skyrocketing by then, but Germans quickly recovered from the setback and put up a hell of a fight for cap 3, which happened to be the last hangar on the left.

(In hindsight, I should probably have set my rally in the woods on the left, but instead I built it inside the last hangar on the right.)

Germans again kept mowing down our assaults with guns, tanks and CAS, while we struggled to cross the open areas towards the cap. But while putting up heavy fire, they made the mistake of keeping few men inside the cap. When I realized, as soon as I could I moved together with a wave of attackers and drove my Sherman INTO the hangar, immediately dismounting my crew and helping to cap SMGs blazing.
It worked.

Cap 4, like the second one, went down quickly almost by sheer momentum. A group of Germans entrenched into the bunker was definitely NOT happy to meet my flamethrower squad, after which we rushed in before reinforcements could arrive in numbers.

Eventually, the battle for the last cap at the balloons hangar started to drain our tickets low again. The team pushed to the entrance of the hangar, but struggled to get in. So, to stay safe, I built a rally in the nearby barracks, then once my Zippo Guys became available again I stormed through the windows and engulfed the whole back of the hangar in flames, allowing the team to rush in for the win.
