After buying my first premium units i quickly found out how dumb of an idea it was, a BR 2 premium unit will stagnate and never be useful again the second you get out of that tier, so i came up with some ways to fix it below.
For vehicles: Premium vehicles shouldn’t be locked to one frozen squad. If you buy a premium tank or plane, that vehicle should unlock for all squads that can use that BR tier and vice versa, that squad should be able to use all other vehicles of that tier.
For infantry: Once you unlock the next weapon tier in the research menu, the premium squad you bought in the previous tier becomes fully customizable. For an example, the BR1 Reising medic squad in the Allied tree is entirely useless right out of the box, a nearly 40 dollar scam in every sense of the word. My idea would allow you to equip that squad with thompsons once you unlock that tier and weapon in the tech tree, stopping you from wasting money and giving an actual reason to get premium units. the squad outfits stay the locked premium ones, such as the br3 german ghewer snipers having that face mask as their cosmetic, or the br2 japanese ghillie snipers keeping their exclusive cosmetics locked to specific squads, just allowing me to upgrade their equipment once i get past it in the tech tree.
the premium APC squads already fix alot of this as is, when you buy one only the driver is premium, yet you can swap his gear, and everyone else’s gear too. with my ideas you would be able to swap his APC for the normal truck, not that youd WANT to, but the idea is the same.
overall i just dont want to be spit on the face by the game progression system if im dropping like 20-40 dollars for a squad that looks cool, the weapons they have are a sidegrade at best 95% of the time as is
I personally think your idea is quite good. The problem is that the official team probably doesn’t have the capacity to handle it. Moreover, reforming the gold squad in this way will reduce the official team’s revenue from selling gold. However, I find this suggestion much more interesting than those who constantly clamor for removing plate armor defense. I will vote for you
thanks! i may not have worded it correctly but my main idea is just to allow us to modify and upgrade premium squads that become obsolete after their BR, to keep the soldiers relevant really. i feel like that COULD boost sales if people know they arent wasting money on a BR locked squad
Your idea is indeed good, but it’s quite challenging. If the Gold Coin Squad could switch weapons as freely as the Research Squad, it would significantly alter sales. Actually, I think to boost sales for the Gold Coin Squad, players who purchase it could unlock and purchase special skins for the Gold Coin Squad’s members from the member appearance section of their own Research Squad. Players who purchase these skins could also exchange them for Gold Coin Squad clothing using clothing cards for the Silver Coin Squad
If changing weapons, one can be conservative and allow the replacement of some similar-weight weapons, similar to the approach taken by the game’s scientific research tank squad
yeah thats a good one, my original idea was allowing say, those Reising BR-1 medics to equip weapons that every other research tree medic squad can equip one you complete the bar at the top of the br-1 tech tree, allowing you to give them BR-2 weapons and so on so forth
I can only hope that the officials will adopt this suggestion, even if only part of it is implemented. Although it may be a bit difficult to achieve, this suggestion is indeed beneficial to the majority of players, and I think it should be supported
Sure, you can play any BR you want but the game’s entire tech tree is built around moving upward. Premium squads are the only thing in the game that don’t scale with that progression
Can I ask what is the point of a premium squad if you remove what makes it unique at that point?
I see your point, but if you want a premium squad to scale with weapons in the tech tree, why not just get rid of the premium squad and add their kit to the tech tree entirely?
To me, I purchased a premium squad like the BRV werwolf squad because I wanted their unique weapons, and in the full knowledge that they were purchased for a reason
I don’t particularly care. I buy a squad because i like to play the tier i bought it for. Never once have i bought a squad for the purpose of progression. Br2 and 3 are prime, but i actually enjoy playing everything for all nations including br 1 and 4. Doesn’t hurt me though to implement weapon swapping
The same thing as the average Event Reward weapon or BP weapon, special gear with a limited quantity. It’s not like many of the premium weapons are actually an upgrade over the tech tree counterparts as is to begin with, alot of them literally come down to the 0.3s in stats and I’d be willing to show the work if you want.
The two biggest reasons I actually WANT to be able to modify premium squads are; The price, even a BR-1 is extremely expensive for a one trick Pony, 25 dollars without tax, up to 60 dollars at the top of the tree.
And two, the APC and squad you can buy for each nation already lets you modify it the exact same way I’m asking for, aside from vehicle swapping, you can change the gear of the people and raise the BR or Lower the BR, in the end the only unique thing is the vehicle or skin as everything else they have is so minimal or doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t hurt anybody to have the OPTIONS available to them for their purchase if the prices are so high.
Tldr: In the end 90% of what you’re getting out of a premium squad regardless of if you purchase it for a specific reason is a Unique outfit (like the werewolf guys) and a side grade weapon, there are some that are genuinely an upgrade over the standard versions or some weapons that don’t have an equal for their BR tier, such as the Sniper Gewher 41s, but they have a direct upgrade in the next tier and fill a minor niche in their own. All I’m asking is that I can swap the weapons on something I enjoy using for whatever reason, spent real money on, and want to KEEP using, on the tiers I wanna play in.
