I’ve played both Axis & Allies, on teams with both high-end weapons and low-end weapons, about ten different times now on the defensive and everytime it ends in a very quick victory with the attacking team’s unit count barely dropping below the 500 mark. Having actually played attacker comparatively fewer times, three at most, I’ve found that this holds true - the momentum is always on the attacking team’s side and the defenders are almost always overwhelmed fairly quickly.
inb4 “git gud” and all that, but I’d like to know if anyone else has noticed the same thing?
Have only had the chance to play it once so far as defender. Main issue was people werent building spawners, otherwise we prob could have held them back. People are just learning where people are coming, best defensive spots, where objective areas are. Over time it should improve.
I’ve only played this map once and it was on attack Axis, we didn’t get off the first point, there was no cover, and the building adjacent to the capture point didn’t have access to the capture point building so there was no way to get to it without being right out in the open. Plus they had two Jumbos hanging in the gray zone.
It really depends on how your team plays… a healthy combination of ppl liking to rush in close combat, and some who prefer to support is key.
Like last match I played in Tunisia: our team defended. We had a lot of “fighters” already (riflemen, automatics…) so since I felt a bit tired anyway decided to play support and not rush front. One other guy felt the same, so we ended up TWO engineer players building defenses like crazy frenzied coke addicts, and I swear the enemy could not destroy our defense faster than we could build them. Looked like a fortress after one minute. From that point on it was a slaughterfest for the joy of our team’s riflemen…
But we could have had a team of offensive guys only and lose the point for lack of rally points, bombs on our heads, etc…
Seems to be a highly tactical map.
If you have a bad team on either side its a stomp. If the teams are even its a really good fight, hard to dislodge defenders if they are dug in, nasty house to house fighting. Had multiple <100 fights on both sides. The map is really growing on me.
i played 3 times omer. 2 as defenders and one as attacker with a friend.
and i noticed that despite we won each round, i have to admit that defenders are not in disavantage ( especially if they manage to capture near the house and not stay all clustered in the objective ) due to how open it is for the attackers to set rally points everywhere.
although this can be applied for the defenders as well.
in my personal opinion, both have good opportunities and skilled well equipped players plays a major role ( perhaps in all maps, but in this one, a bit more ).
the only problem is the players, on querry I lost a game in 7 minutes and 45 seconds because no one was defending, if you happen to be with a useless team it is the end
sometimes i win pretty easy as defender even attacker couldnt capture first point
sometimes i win pretty easy as attacker even it only took my team 10 min to win
either way, the capturing time need to be extended because currently it’s too fast even i single handedly captured a point before
Lost 8 out of 10 on defense and won 10/10 on attack,
This map is imbalanced or people are just plain stupid.
I actually started to take names of people who bottom frag and surprise surprise they are all players… unless you can find bot in ‘add a friend’.
Not sure whats wrong with this map, people are all over the place due to defendable locations changing, so this is heavily attacker biased.
Wouldnt be surprised if official stats showed like 85% global winrate for attacking side lol
