Ojective imbalances after nerfs / introduction of new weapons

It was more stable and sometimes PPD shots didn’t register leading to it being able to deliver more effective DPS especially beyond very short distances.

That last bit was more of question than anything but I get your point, further more from what I’ve seen with upgrades it seems that while not having the squad weapon tune perk the weapon won’t see a damage increase.

Hits not registering with PPDs is the most annoying then with the gun it can happen even at point blank (0m), at such range it doesn’t really matter that much but not registering hits is a real issue which in most time will get you killed without downing an enemy even at its effective range (short).

The German SMGs had as much damage output as full powered rifles, of course they should have been brought down to a more reasonable level.

The full powered rifles did 15 damage stock, 18 damage upgraded
The SMGs did 8.5 damage stock, 10.4 damage upgraded

I don’t know where you are getting the “as much damage” from, as that is simply false.

Furthermore, bringing down the rate of fire from 600+ to 450-490 by replacing the default SMG (which is a reduction of 20+%) and nerfing the damage from 8.5 to 5.5 (which is another 35% decrease) means the damage output got reduced from 85DPS (600 * 8.5/60) to 41.25-44.91DPS (450-490 * 5.5/60) which is a decrease of 48% (not counting the times where the new SMG fires 40 shots less per minute), while not touching the russian SMGs at all feels a bit off.

For reference, an non-upgraded PPD has a DPS of 73-80 (730-800 * 6/60) and their later variant gets a drum with 71 rounds, allowing you to sustain that DPS for about 10 seconds. The MP40 still retains the 32 round stick magazine while only getting a minor increase in fire rate (up to around 500-550 iirc, not ingame rn).

Sure, the russian SMGs had more energy to the bullet, but the bullet (i think it was 7mm?) was smaller than the 9x19 para round, meaning that while it would have more penetration, it would likely deal less damage, as was the case previous patch.

You understand that the G41 and SVTs are also full-powered rifles, which only did 8 damage. That’s as much as the German pistol caliber cartridges were dealing

Those were articicially nerfed to deal less damage, which was unrealistic to begin with and had no reason to happen. Instead of the SMGs dealing as much damage as a rifle, there were rifles that did as much damage as the SMGs. Other way around.

So with the most recent update the M81 Dragoon and M1895 both got buffed to do 15 damage like the M91/31, meaning the russians effectively always deal more damage than the germans. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Devs are racist😁

It’s purely anecdotal, but when I pick up any Russian rifle, I have a pretty hard time aiming it. It might be because I’m used to a hooded frontpost, but it definitely feels different to the German rifles. The damage is (in my experience) negligible. The only real problem is that you can’t reliably kill the Russian premium squad with one shot from the German rifles, whereas I’ve taken a single hit from a Mosin and died plenty of times in the German premium squad.

However, I think that the PPK-41 should get another look. To that end, here’s a quick rundown of the PPK-41 & MP41 in terms of stats. Both are fully upgraded and in use by the premium squads.

PPK-41 / MP-41
Caliber: 7.62 / 9mm
Hitpower: 7.2 / 6.6
Damage reduction over range PPK-41: 7.2 @ 10m, 3.6 @ 100m, 2.5 @ 200m, 3.0 @ 200m (??), 1.8 @ 300m
Damage reduction over range MP-41: 6.6 @ 10m, 3.8 @ 100m, 2.9 @ 200m, 3.3 @ 200m (??), 2.2 @ 300m
Velocity: 450 m/sec & 400 m/sec
Rate of fire: 490-540 / 520 - 620
Reload: 2.4 / 2.8 sec
Vertical recoil: 15 / 16
Horizontal recoil: 15 / 4
Feed system: 35 round mag / 32 round mag
PPK-41 is full-auto, MP-41 has Auto & Semi-auto toggle

While not particularly possessing a higher ROF, the PPK-41 feels a lot more stable when firing due to the recoil value for both horizontal and vertical being at 15, whereas the MP-41 controls like it has a vengeance against the sky. This, combined with a higher damage output and (slightly) bigger magazine, leads to the PPK-41 being a really strong SMG that if properly used, can easily demolish people at even long ranges.

The PPK controls like a german SMG pre-nerf. Which conveniently all received increased recoil and much lower damage, the highest rate of fire variant also got removed.

Note the veteran soldiers have the horizontal recoil perk. re-rolling it to the vertical recoil one gives you a better time

it is true that mosins have worse sights than the kar98k’s, but that shouldnt mean the kar98k should deal less damage.
