Now that MOA has been implemented in Active Matter can it be added to Enlisted?

The new Gaijin game, Active Matter, has implemented an MOA system for weapons instead of an RNG Deviation Model.

For those unaware, Minute of Angle, or MOA, is the measurement system used to measure the precision of firearms in the real world.

Enlisted Shot Deviation → MOA Conversion

Enlisted’s current Shot Deviation stat is effectively the underlying dispersion angle ×100. For example, the base MP 40 is shown as 82 Shot Deviation, while the underlying dispersion value is 0.82. Enlisted dispersion is treated as the full cone angle in degrees.

So:

1 Enlisted Shot Deviation = 0.01° = 0.6 MOA

Using true MOA, where:

1 MOA ≈ 1.047 in at 100 yd ≈ 2.909 cm at 100 m

Shot Deviation → MOA

1 Shot Deviation = 0.6 MOA [0.63 in / 1.75 cm]

2 Shot Deviation = 1.2 MOA [1.26 in / 3.49 cm]

3 Shot Deviation = 1.8 MOA [1.88 in / 5.24 cm]

5 Shot Deviation = 3.0 MOA [3.14 in / 8.73 cm]

10 Shot Deviation = 6.0 MOA [6.28 in / 17.45 cm]

15 Shot Deviation = 9.0 MOA [9.42 in / 26.18 cm]

20 Shot Deviation = 12.0 MOA [12.57 in / 34.91 cm]

25 Shot Deviation = 15.0 MOA [15.71 in / 43.63 cm]

50 Shot Deviation = 30.0 MOA [31.42 in / 87.27 cm]

75 Shot Deviation = 45.0 MOA [47.12 in / 130.90 cm]

100 Shot Deviation = 60.0 MOA [62.83 in / 174.54 cm]

150 Shot Deviation = 90.0 MOA [94.25 in / 261.81 cm]

Distance Conversion

1 Shot Deviation → 0.63" at 100 Yards / 1.75 cm at 100 Meters

2 Shot Deviation → 1.26" at 100 Yards / 3.49 cm at 100 Meters

3 Shot Deviation → 1.88" at 100 Yards / 5.24 cm at 100 Meters

5 Shot Deviation → 3.14" at 100 Yards / 8.73 cm at 100 Meters

10 Shot Deviation → 6.28" at 100 Yards / 17.45 cm at 100 Meters

15 Shot Deviation → 9.42" at 100 Yards / 26.18 cm at 100 Meters

20 Shot Deviation → 12.57" at 100 Yards / 34.91 cm at 100 Meters

25 Shot Deviation → 15.71" at 100 Yards / 43.63 cm at 100 Meters

50 Shot Deviation → 31.42" at 100 Yards / 87.27 cm at 100 Meters

75 Shot Deviation → 47.12" at 100 Yards / 130.90 cm at 100 Meters

100 Shot Deviation → 62.83" at 100 Yards / 174.54 cm at 100 Meters

150 Shot Deviation → 94.25" at 100 Yards / 261.81 cm at 100 Meters

One important detail: these numbers are the full extreme-to-extreme dispersion cone, equivalent to how an MOA group size is normally stated, so 25 Shot Deviation = 15 MOA = ~15.71″ diameter at 100 yd.

This means a maximum geometric deviation of roughly ±7.85″ from the point of aim.

Enlisted also biases shots toward the center rather than distributing every bullet uniformly at the cone’s outer edge. This makes some Enlisted values pretty wild:

82 Shot Deviation on the base MP 40 ≈ 49.2 MOA ≈ 51.5″ at 100 yards.

These values are full dispersion diameters. For example:

Now, it’s important to note that if any of those guns came off the production line in WW2 with Enlisted’s dispersion → MOA values, they would be rejected immediately. An M1903A1 or Kar98k, or any military rifle exceeding 4+ MOA, would be unacceptable to every military on the planet. In reality, rifles like the Kar98k did suffer from poor wartime barrels and ammunition, leading to poor accuracy, but not 4+ MOA at just 100 yards. That is the accuracy that poor examples of 7.62×39mm AKMs have and would add up to an entire foot, or 12-inch groups, at 300 yards, which is standard expected engagement distance for a bolt action.

Enlisted’s depiction of Self Loading rifles is even worse. In reality, a rifle like the SVT-40 was plagued with accuracy issues; examples could exhibit an MOA grouping exceeding 5 inches at 100 yards, but Enlisted decided to depict the rifle with 10.8, which is more than double.

Enlisted’s depiction of submachine guns is where things get interesting. If Submachine guns were like this during the Second World War, then they wouldn’t have been used, period.

The M1921AC is depicted as 12.6 MOA, which is nothing like its real-world performance. In reality, M1921 pattern Thompsons achieved groupings of 4–6 MOA, which is excellent for a Submachine Gun. It’s so good that it holds up to modern submachine Guns like the MP5, which achieves groups of 4–5 MOA.

I won’t go into the other SMGs all that much, but in reality, the worst SMGs, like the STEN Mk.II, achieved groups of 8–12 MOA, which corresponds to [approximately 13.3–20 Enlisted Shot Deviation], which is terrible.

Now I would continue this with Pistols, Intermediate Rifles and Carbines, and Medium Machine Guns, but you already understand the basics.

Although I will say one thing… in reality, Martin Luther’s Arquebus Barrel does not magically teleport into an MG 42 just because you start walking forward while firing.

What’s exactly is ‘Active Matter’ & MOA?

IMOP, Active Matter sucks, and I wasted $29.99 on it only to end up deleting it off my computer after playing it about half a dozen times. So, they can enjoy my $29.99 donation, but I have zero desire to ever play it again.

and those measurements are no doubt achieved at a target range with a factory fresh weapon. secondly the shooter did not represent an average soldier. i am fine with changing accuracy of guns if we nerf the super soldiers larping as real military recruits volunteer and drafted.

Active Matter is the new Gaijin game, it’s basically Stalker + Enlisted.

MOA is a firearm accuracy mesurment system, Modern Bolt Actions are usally under 1 MOA meaning that after firing 5, 10, 15, ect rounds, you wont have more than 1 inch between the hits on a target at 100 Yards.

Never heard of stalker, but it sounds fun because of Enlisted being mentioned
