Your soldiers just following you is kinda pointless. There should be more tactical commands.
I agree. Perhaps there could be a short command system to instruct each of your squad members individually. Useful commands could be: use this machine gun, AT, flak, build this structure here, etc.
I believe, that those might come in future and AI is according to everything still being worked on. However, that might take far more time.
I believe for starters there should be a “defend here” or “attack here” command.
There is an attack and defend here already, on ps5 double tab square. But a cease fire option would be nice and a few more attack options would be nice, but as well as above you can target enemy tanks planes and order squad to attack too.
It is possible to give AI currently these commands: Disassemble (pretty useful to break through engineer defenses while you can defend your AI or disassemble different structure in meanwhile), defend cap, attack on cap, defend location, spread formation, close formation, revive me, give me ammo.
