Every game without fail people just take the Shermans and snipe in the back of the map. The 88mm Pak can’t pen them, AT crews can’t pen them at range, and my PV IV can’t do anything to them either while they can still 1 tap me. Either the German weaponry needs an upgrade to compete or the Shermans need a nerf.
You are not speaking about all Shermans, you are specifically mentioning jumbos. That’s big difference.
There’s was how you can pen them frontally, target the hull MG (most essential weakspot of this tank) . If you are unable to do this, try to shoot its cannon. Without it, it’s pretty much useless and its crew has to try to repair it.
Btw. German AT weapons can easily pen jumbos. But sadly, all AT weapons are bugged nowadays. The more close you are to the target, the bigger chance yout AT weapon will do nothing.
It’s bug and it shouldn’t work like this.
Otherwise I think all Shermans are still way too inferior to Tigers.
Try to experiment a little bit in practice mode. It could help you.

yeah the jumbo can be a little unbalanced heres a tip shoot the mg port its the weak point

That’s the problem i guess, I’m just not a sweaty nerd that’s going to dedicate my life to this game to get a tiger

With a little practice in training mode, you’ll have no problems erasing tanks with rockets.
As @Adamnpee said, there is a HUGE difference between the regular Sherman (M4A2) and the Jumbo (M4A3E2). The M4A3E2 has much better armor which allows it to deal with Panzers, and with sometimes Tigers and Panthers. The Germans have much better armor, guns, and ammunition for their tanks.
If you find it hard to deal with tanks at range, try using an aircraft. The American aircraft are a little better than their German counterparts, but the German planes are capable too. Try going to the practice range to learn about your enemies weaknesses, and how to exploit them.

Though AT weapons are bugged currently, I agree with what Adam said:
From what my buddies and I have experienced, (both during the bug and before) is to use the Panzerfaust from long range. It will kill almost every single time. It hits from above, making the heavy sloped armor worthless.

The panzerschreck and faust can easifront pen the jumbo from any range, set up out of sight and yeet rounds and zero in until you hit it
any early level player can destroy a heavy tank with explosives, tnt or at weapons.
the problem is; you are just materialised version of skill issue
oh and all at guns and weapons are bugged nowadays
