So far imo I just find the Moscow campaign more authentic and better looking map wise. It actually feels like credible environments. The Moscow maps reminds me of the gritty and muddy Soviet landscapes I always saw in documentaries and films about the Eastern front and I think they’ve done an absolutely amazing artistic work with it.
Normandy, on the other hand lacks of something. It just doesn’t feel like I’m in Normandie. It just reminds me of a very generic pool of maps with your hills, bushes, trees and bunkers. Compared to games like HLL and Post Scriptum I think the devs have some serious rework to do of the Normandy campaign because switching from Moscow over to Normandy almost feel like two different games to me in a not so good way.
It doesn’t feel like I am fighting in Normandy as much as I feel I am actually fighting on the Eastern front. The difference in research is that huge. It’s like they told some random dude with coding and game making skills without any interest in WW2: "Aight, we need a beach, some bunkers, trees, bushes and for some reason hills all over the place. ".
If you haven’t already I suggest you compare it all with the Normandy maps in Hell let loose and Post Scriptum. I f you’re having fun with it, that’s great. I just think it is a way too much of a map/campaign downgrade compared to the Moscow campaign.
What do you guys think?
