Normandy tank change

I maxed Normandy Allies.

The AP round is crap, but it’s still entirely possible to frontally pen and kill a P4H in 2-3 shots.

The same can be said when I penetrate jumbo weakpoints with L48 cannons. Even with APHE to the cupola, it kills 2-3, and the MG port only kills 2-3, and rarely kills the entire crew.

I want to say that the reason why he says that is because m72 is just in general a shit round and the panther doesn’t have a frontal weak spot iirc

Panthers weakspots are pretty much identical to the jumbo… hull mg, and commander spot, left (your left) of the barrel

the cheek is 100mm and jumbo has APCBC with 101mm @ 100m or APCR with 135mm @ 100m, switch the shell, problem solved?

I’m more so referring to panther D, which I believe to be the most likely Normandy panther, which doesn’t have a hull MG and slapping the cupola with shells only really works with APHE

I’ll be acceptable of that but we can’t get a true feeling of how it would pan out until it’s out

historically (i read on dday-overlord com) it’s panther G

good for you because the APCBC is HE filed shell

A and G were in Normandy as well though we also have them in Berlin. But the main reason why i say D is because lack of a turret traverse which will punish the player for getting tunnel vision.

And m61, the apcbc shell, was the shell that the Shermans historically used anyways

Just let the Shermans be upgraded to carry all the shells that they historically carried. Panther would still be the better platform but Shermans would have some chance …

It was meant to be a sarcastic joke. Sorry it didn’t come trough that way.

The problem is that you compare the Shermans with the next upcoming german tank… don’t worry I bet usa will get a monster td that will have no problem dealing with any panther.

If the shells get upgraded for existing tanks however, then the devs will also need to do something with the existing pz3 and 4. Don’t know what could be done.

But then again the devs brought up a bizzare tank choice (the jumbo) in the first place instead of, like some suggested, the firefly or easy8, so the mess is on them 🤷

Yeah I’m scratching my head over the Jumbo as well. I’m all for giving both sides whatever they had historically for this time frame.

I was really kind of hoping that they would break the campaigns down to significant frontal battles. So for example Normandy would have those vehicles and weapons available in summer of 44 of western front.

Then maybe you would have one campaign that was centered around fall of 44 with maps and weapons representing Holland and the Market Garden battle as well as breaching the Siegfried line.

Then maybe another campaign for winter of 44 to 45 that would include maps and weapons in Belgium and the battle of the bulge.

I have suggested a seigfreid campaign that allows tanks from September of 44 to February of 45 iirc

No, change the Jumbo to a standard Sherman.
Firefly wouldn’t make sense as it was never employed by the Americans.

It is fuck**ing bad, i almost always play it, and you only can kill it with luck ( Shooting to the gun pod, doesn´t work) So the best solution is to shoot to the up part of the turret, if you can make it, and sometimes try the gun pod, if u are at the side, you can shoot between the tracks, if you are at the side u can kill it easily by the front is almost impossible , dont say crap

you are right about this i used it as howitzer for this reason as a tank it can face m8 and stuart without problems but the sherman devastates him

Hmmm yes 3n is bad yes very bad

Riky this is how a howitzer work one on one meh

Nah I just fucked up and missed the ammo which yeah jumbo keeps its ammo in the armor behind the track
