It will become harder for AI soldiers to spot a player lying in grass.
Accuracy will be more dependent on distance. This, for example, should fix a situation where the AI was able to effectively shoot down players even at long distances.
We will train AI soldiers to better hide and move in trenches, where it might be beneficial.
Working on improving commands system
Then
New schwimmwagen
Low clouds and fog for D-day map
Then
Weapon balance. For example, we reduced the M1 Carbine recoil.
We are adjusting the balance of the Invasion mission, as well as finalizing the location of the machine gun points, including dismantling the machine guns that are directed to the rear.
Improved individual AI paths for fighters and removing detected sticking points.
We are working to correct the situation of the accumulation of AI soldiers in capture zones and are teaching the soldiers to be distributed evenly across them, as they already do in Moscow.
We’ve increased the elevation angles of the anti-tank cannons, allowing them to fire from the hills near the beach.
We’re improving the beach landscape, getting rid of shoot-through areas, making the landing more interesting.
I see a lot of changes focused on AI behaviour. That is a step in the right direction. I hope they carry over to Moscow too soon.
I’d rather see these come to Moscow first if it isn’t planned already. Since we have tested it much more extensively, any changes and it’s good and bad will be much more prominent/identifiable there.
Maybe it’s a bit naive, but they seem to have really listened to what playerbase had to say. Almost all of those changes showed up on this forum.
I hope that it would be similar situation with other campaigns and devs would listen and more importantly - talk back, like in this post.
The Enlisted game engine allows us to fine tune weather effects and the time of day, thanks to which we can set the desired atmosphere for you and make even more diverse options for it.
read the whole thing on the Enlisted page, Tcat didn’t post everything
The part Im looking forward to the most, is improving behaviour of AI as it would hopefully affect all campaigns.
While Normandy was very bright campaign, it never felt weird to me and I think it may be a bit waste of development time that should be focused on the most grave issues Enlisted have (among these is that damn chateu fence people get stuck on every single time in Normandy… seriously, that fence must be cursed or something!). But darker Normandy sure sounds interesting, so I´m looking forward to that as well.
Hopefully, we will eventually see same maps at a bit different conditions (where it is possible) to keep some of the “happiness” in. After all, Dagor can do all that.
But more than content of the news itself, I appreciate that we at least have some news from developers. Interaction of developers with testers should be more frequent than news post here and there and news about further plans for Moscow that is active campaign for a good while now, is still something we have yet to see (and hopefully, we will see them soon enough).
I love how dark and gloomy the beach looks. As a person that plays mostly tanks, I can’t wait for them to add all the new tanks and vehicles. Glad to hear that they are improving the AI as well
AI sniping from long distances - definitely good idea to fix this. YOu can sort of balance that with your OWN soldiers doing the same, and kinda play the system, exploiting AI soldier strengths. I usually have my guys moving with me - and rifling long ranges, while I push and cover with SMG/MG
But probably better to just rework that, or whatever is decided. This is a bit off.
I just wanna wait for the map getting expanded, for all modes (if they add an assault mode that would be lovely) that’s what i’m ever since i played enlisted from CAT and that uniforms (still a lots of placeholders and copy paste)
