I mean, it is intended to be difficult and unbalanced thats why you have 1000 respawns to try.
I haven’t seen people camping with tanks in the hills in a long time, most times they rush to meet the enemy, but i can’t say that there aren’t snipers in the hills since there are and can be frustrating.
You can get into the hills of both the left and right were you have a great advantage since most capture points will be below you. Also, you just need to move a little to get to the action, it’s not like you get instakilled the moment you spawn.
But i agree that the tank meta in the normandy map is pretty dumb.
You are just probably getting too frustrated if u posted this post, for me it’s usually the opposite, most of the times when I’m on German team we get absolutely DeMoLiShEd, so we’re both probably are just getting unlucky matches or something.
The allies are definitely in the advantage on Invasion. This was showcased throughout the CBT. I’m playing both Axis and Allies in Normandy and I definitely find it harder to defend than to attack.
Yet, playing for Germany lately, we always lose this map. Because, first of all, players have already understood the hottest mg spots, and they are quickly neutralized with tanks - and the other thing, ai /aim bot bots, shoots you faster than you can pull the mg trigger.
Indeed, with the loss of the first positions on the beach, it becomes almost impossible to maintain the other positions, and all it remains to retreat further and further.
By the way, it is harder to defend on the hilltop (as it may sound strange), because the whole foothill of the mountain is covered by house roofs or trees, and you are practically in an open area on top, and I am always killed as soon as I get out of the ditch, trying to orient from which side from below the players are attacking.
The key for Germany to win this map, is to keep safe starting positions on the beach as long
as possible.
