Normandy Airfield during event in a nutshell

Well, Im trying hard to enjoy the event, i tryied my best…

Just made the meme for fun after a long day to fight back  Well chased by two fighters and AA was not fun at all.

Event need to be rewarded by exp earned or building more radios maybe… Teach players what to play is never a good idea.

I use enginer:build radio ,aa ,at other shit, kill at least 40 people at match support ally with tanks or plane, and every time with germany lost so the things are 2 or germany in this game is the worst or other player has fun to loose im thinking is the second

I am in complete agreement with you. Unfortunately this event is bringing out the worst in all of us. We all want the shiny toys and in order to get them we have to either be godly at the game which I certainly am NOT or play like complete A holes just so we can unlock the pretty guns.

Hopefully in the future the devs will make events about teamwork and playing the objective. How about capture 20 points? that sounds like it might teach people how to get on point without dying eh? Or like you said reward the players for building FOBs. They just released a patch for engies to help address the xp issue but I still barely see radios, or build them because I couldn’t place a good FOB if someone held my hand and showed me where to put it LOL

yeah more teamwork mission is more effective to encourage the team to fight. though i agree capture is a good way but some people will quit if its a defend map. Maybe some defend kills count, engineer scores is simply good.

And another example, maybe still plenty of players didnt know they can HELP downed players to get up faster. So many good functions wasted now, no reward, no encouragement. In this event. Kill counts still have a heavy weight in reward return. who cares losing then…

I think that Planetside 2 nailed it with the support classes. You were awarded xp for EVERYTHING you did. That little white pop up is all the motivation a support minded player needs to enjoy their task. Medics like being rewarded too right?

Hopefully the devs will implement an xp system that just knocks our socks off in future updates.

The major difference is how big are capture zones in Planetside and how scoring system works. You get small bonus for killing someone inside of capture zone itself, here you get major bonus. The zones there are big, here they are very small. Large zones allow all kind of classes to be effective as there is enough space to deploy them. Neither everyone gets nuked by a single barrage.
No big bonus for fighting in the zone allows more flexibility in setting up a fortified flank or hunting for respawn points of enemy. So people don’t group up so tightly creating overall wider front of battle.

And yes, you did get XP for everything, medics is one of the classes which is good for grinding credits.

Those are all very valid points, now that I think of it you are correct. Planetside 2 did capture points better. Have you ever considered doing a video yourself to the devs explaining ideas like this?

The amount of times I kamikaze with a flamethrower guy to try and still fail to finish the mission… the amount of time I wasted and sanity I threw away… I regret everything, I regret ever laying my hands on this game

Completely understandable. The event missions were not well thought out at all. Hopefully, they take this criticism to heart and make the next one better!

Yes please. It wouldn’t be so bad if they wanted us to get say 60 bolt action kills, but forcing people to fork out 60 flamethrower (which flamethrowers just suck and are extremely situational) like seriously did you not think that through, even a monkey would realize that wouldn’t work.

Next time they should go for capturing objectives, wining 3 games (that one was good), bolt action kills, knocking out tanks, shooting down planes. Things that we do everyday and that won’t just make everyone throw the games.

That’s nothing but a cop-out. You might not get many individual points for being a good team-player, but you get a 1.5x bonus for winning, and you win by being a team-player.

If someone is failing to build a radio they are nothing more than an idiot, wanting to get carried to victory without a thought in their head.

I think they just selected weapons that are rarely used on Normandy. Perhaps to collect some data. Imho getting 60 kills with flamethrower on Normandy is easier than in Moscow. Be grateful it wasn’t 60 kills with a pistol, on Normandy.

Agree with that. D-Day event was the only time I’ve completed flamethrower task, otherwise I just re-roll it to something else.

I see a lot of frustration in this thread. All I can say is vote, take the survey.
