No points for bombers after their bombs are away

Too many people chase the bombers across the map to pad their stats. This can have a significant impact on the match especially if they successfully killed many of your allies already. They shouldn’t be worth anything after they have released their payload. People should almost be penalized for pursuing them instead of rewarded. Similar to leaving the combat zone on the ground or something.

I think it takes skill to shoot down, this discussion has been had many times already, perhaps slight reduction in XP after bombs dropped, but remember this gives fighters a reason to be up in sky, don’t take that away…

no, they are up there to counter attackers

this is also ignoring the entire point of it being a waste of a “squad” during potentially one of the most crucial points in the game, they are better off blindly spraying the point with there guns/cannons then wasting 5 minutes of flight time to kill something that is no longer relevant to the match

why stop there…dont give snipers points either, or tanks that snipe, Or people that dont build rallies.

…are you really that annoyed by someone that got points for shooting down planes…

Very good suggestion, I support this

I definitely understand what you are saying, and that stuff is frustrating as well. However, those things are basically uncontrollable. This is something that could definitely be controlled. You could certainly make another thread about those points if you like.

No, this is a place for suggestions and that is all this is. If that’s how you need to get points then go for it. Lol. Simple suggestion that would help improve the game but if you are seriously this committed defending it then all I can do is laugh at you.

my point was more, IMO That as far as the useless things that team mates do, this is almost right down the bottom (or doesn’t even come to mind)

by all means, suggest away

Why not build AA and shot them down themself? You have plenty of time between call of bombers and actual bombing.

Yeah well I never made any statement about it being the worst behavior and that there weren’t worse things to deal with. I came here with a solution to a solvable issue instead of just finding some thread to vent my collective frustration on. :kissing_heart:

I will try to present a different perception :
Bombers are the real reason why people started to use fighter planes more and air war is way more diverse and funny than before.
Before bomber update, nearly all experinced pilots were using just attacker planes .
After bombing run generalised for every campaign, significant number of good pilots started to choose fighters to play.
Before bombers, only couple of attackers were just flying around, rarely getting into fight.
Bombers huge xp reward gave immense incentive for both sides:

  • knowing that you can select 1-2 payload light bombing fighter can also give you huge xp know if you shot doen enemy bombers
-some attackers like me 410 , fw 190 a8 used to rarrly see gameplay, they were not as destructive against land targets but have sheer firepower advantage against other planes. They became even more uselful and important
  • and the best thing: rival team pilots also know this so they also make similar choises.
Before bomber xp pinatas, all high level axis in normandy just spamming ju 188 and allies spamming p 47
Nowadays a lot of underrated high tier attacker planes and fighter planes can be seen more often

If you and your team loose the match because of 1 guy on a plane, enjoying the game content, you didn’t deserve to win at all to begin with.

That’s just my opinion.

And bombing runs, imo, should stay as they are, they are a good source of fun for fighters without bombs.

Also for the love of God, stop asking for xp nerfs. When the game economy goes around xp.

Even, if people is doing something that doesn’t fit your agenda, might be what they enjoy in enlisted.

What? In Tunisia you can shoot down all bombers with the Stuka and at best some wing parts will turn bright yellow.

Trues, but some campaign the AI gunner is better than others, also depends on approach as you know. I don’t think Moscow bombers even fire back right now!?!

They could easily bring them in sooner, say when its actually called out instead of shortly after, and have them slow down or something. There are workarounds to the current concept of incentives to engage in something completely irrelevant to a competitive game.

It isnt even about the xp… How is this lost on people?? The xp is the incentive to abandon your team at a crucial moment. Its deplorable behavior. Defending it is even worse.

and it isnt just the fighters that chase them… maybe i dont even care about when fighters chase them and its more about the idea of attackers chasing them

My suggestion is that each downed bomber should increase the cooldown of bomb raid use by 1-2 minutes for all team players.

I like this, its definitely better than awarding points for helping oneself and not the team.

Or perhaps each bomber shot down is lost for that individual player’s strikes and it would be indicated to them when they try to call it in next which are available or something

Its still bunk to abandon your team at that moment though. Especially when there may only be a few actual human players who can avoid the strike, build rallies etc.

When I get a notification about an enemy air raid, I run away from the bombing area. I prefer this solution than giving the opponent points.

If people did that, they would discover that maps allow for amazing tactical feats.

Now if only we could convince the bots that everyone relies on guarding the point to do this…
