I have rarely come to the forum to cry, but I think this situation is absurd.
In Normandy there are 5 or 6 pzIV while the allies will have a Firefly, a tank that can destroy a tiger with one shot.
60€ for a bundle with another pzIV? Why not add a tank that doesn’t exist, like a Tiger, Stug, or Hetzer?
Or the fuel compartment. If the tankers don´t extinguish the fire the vehicle blows up. Wich makes the Puma in theory really strong because it can OHK Jumbos from the side and blow up the engine on a regular M4.
Actually the most mass produced german AFV was Stug. By 1944 (Normandy) production of Panthers was on par with PzIV, that got greater total but it was produced for longer period. Interestingly Tiger I ended production in that year to be replaced with Tiger II but compare to Stugs, PzIV and Panthers that were made in thousands only several hundred Tigers were produced but PzIV and PzIII skirt armor made them look like a bit like Tiger (at least for regular G.I. of that time who had problems identifying tanks apart from us mostly ww2 enthusiasts) so presence of Tigers on the battlefield was often exaggerated.
I know, i should have used Panzerwaffe workhorse as there were more Stugs produced but they were mostly in sturmgeschütz abteilungs, sometimes they were on Panzer units because there was shortage of tanks.
I know, there were only 3 Tigers that Us troops engaded after Normandy. But regular trooper just dont give a fuck about what tank it is tbh, they just wanted armor to know there is enemy tanks.
Btw. Jsem taky Čech, tak klidně můžeme někdy zahrát kdyby jsi chtěl.
Actually they wanted the Airforce to know theres enemy tanks*
Anyways, dont overestimate the Firefly it is still an AP Round not APCBC or APDS. It is more likely that the Tiger will rather appear as campaign level reward.
Not really as Allied planes were not really good at destroying German armor. And for troopers it was simplier to call for tank or arty support than for Air support.
that goes under the myth of tankbusting. Numbers vary depending on source how effective the allied cas was against tanks. But most sources agrees that cas had hardly any effect on actually destroying tanks and CAS missions were on airforces priority list somewhere between knitting and braiding pubic hairs.
