In a PVP mode where customization is key to both fun and success people shouldn’t be forced to play another squad or outright leave the match, or generally be forced to play things they dont want to play, just because their current soldier died from artillery spam at the beginning of the match while trying to get to a point.
It’s extremely annoying to me trying to use the soldiers that i specifically customized for the playstyle i want and then to just die from a radio operator, who does nothing but sit in his spawn all day cheesing. I dont want to be forced to respawn in a lower level soldier or an entirely different class. So I’d atleast like to be able to respawn as the same soldier again.

I think this way you are more forced to be afraid for your life. Play more safely, don’t rush brainlessly.
A great incentive to want to actually stay alive, but there is a spawnlimit set at 15 deaths that prevents you from respawning so i think thats also an incentive to be afraid for your life.
(when it actually works coz at times it doesnt)
Yet I think with how unbalanced some elements of maps, the fact that the game has a lot of backtracking issues and visibility issues and the cheesy tactics right now staying alive usually means camping in some window or generally not going for the objective, so it can be very frustrating to play against other players and keeping that one soldier alive.
Well I kinda agree with you, this game doesn’t let you play passive style, unlike games like HLL and P.S. where the objective is not to kill but rather hold position with surpressive fire and play safely. In this game if you dont go directly to objective and kill your enemies you will simply lose. So yeah this one tries to combine dynamic gameplay with realism so its kinda complicated
