Night time battles and weather

I first want to say that I think they should focus on existing issues and content first before investing time in something like this, but here goes.

I recently had this bug while playing Normandy:

And it actually felt awesome.

I was running around and some parts of the map were completely dark, to the point where it was sometimes difficult to spot enemies, which I enjoyed more than I expected, I also made the mistake of forgetting that enemies can still see me, which was fun and not fun.

This made me think, having night time battles would be great fun, it adds different elements of gameplay, such as more stealthy movement, different experiences playing in buildings and forests, and overall just a different atmosphere. The same goes for a weather systems, things like storms and fog can add other elements to the game that could be really nice, although a full weather system might impact performance.

I think it would be great to see different times of the day in battles as well as a weather system.

well night battles shouldn’t exist because people like seeing but i’m up for more variable weathers

Berlin used to have battles in the evening, the street lights were on and the somldering ground had really nice effects. The visibility was still very good and it was super immersive.
When you think of Berlin you don’t really imagine fighting in the happy sunlight like it is now, im sad they removed that.

Mortars, grenade launchers and Arty could fire flares. Would be cool, and scary if the flares lit up 5 squads about to over run your position.

No thanks. There us already a map - Fort District in Moscow with bad weather and poor visibility and I absolutely hate that map because of it.

In general I think they should reduce some of the visibility issues in the game like removing fog some of the weird lighting buildings. It just incentivises people to camp and ambush people.

Mmmh I’d be intrigued to play a night/evening match. If only for the immersion/ambiance the lighting effect of weapons muzzle flashes would bring.
