I would love to see a night Battle variation of every battle from every campaign.
no because i like seeing my enemies thank you very much
hmm…it would be interesting…i guess. Might try
If there is any night battle you would only see darkness. They dont have cool night vision back then
Not gonna work because everyone’s gonna cheat by abusing Gamma Correction in the Options menu.
If no one cheated adjusting their settings, I would still just desert each night battle. No vision would force close in battles. I SUCK at that and would not care to play it. Besides, I think people would adjust their settings to see and thus be cheating. No thank you!
Meh, I’d like that sometimes.
For the ambiance and muzzle flashs everywhere. It would also make me feel like a ninja.
Hmm, yes, I can see that happening, if maps were all dark. But what if some areas were lit up by fires and occasionaly flares in the sky? Wouldn’t gamma abusers just blind themselves then?
I think night battles could be nice variation, that really shake up the gameplay, as long as it is done right and doesn’t occur too often.
Night battles in “the other game” (WT) have always been a PITA.
In early years, you would “only” randomly find yourself in PITCH BLACK maps (imagine a dark overcast night with no moon nor stars and a general blackout on the ground) where you wouldn’t be able to see the front end of your own vehicle.
Then more modern vehicles joined the game, night vision devices became a thing but as unlockable upgrades, and all of a sudden night battles started to happen more often… Turned into matches where half the players COULDN’T see the other half.
As you can imagine, a lot of people would quit immediately regardless of the penalties. That’s probably the main reason Gaijin lately came up with the idea of airborne flares temporarily enlightening the battlefield at regular intervals.
TLDR, the idea of night battles sounds cool because of the atmosphere, but eventually playing/fighting without being able to see sh*t SUCKS.
Night battles in Enlisted could perhaps be acceptable ONLY if the night versions of maps were purposefully tweaked to have 1) ALWAYS clear weather with full moon granting a decent minimum level of environmental light; 2) as many artificial sources of light as possible.
But I can hardly imagine the fields of Moscow or Normandy suddenly filled with plausible light sources, so…
Thousands of burning candles and torches everywhere like in Skyrim?
