Press V to mark the enemy. Will my AI team members pay attention to the location I marked?
As a newcomer, what should I choose as my second technology?
What should I do to make my AI team members actively attack the tank? Or do my AI team members have to have individual anti-tank guns? Or do I have to do it myself?
As a new player, what should I do with my initial silver coins? Or should I keep them?
1.) Yes
3.) On PC look at the tank and press X “attack vehicle”. Your AI will throw a detonation pack at the tank. They will never use any AT weapons to destroy the tank.
One really good thing would be to rush for the engineer squad of the nation you are playing. You will be able to build rally points. For the germans, the engineer squad is unlocked with the Carcano M41 I think.
The engineer squad is one of the most versatile in the game. You can put up to six engineers in one squads or swap some of them for AT gunner and radio operator for instance.
But most importantly is the engineer themselves. They are equipped with the same main weapon as riflemen (Bolt action rifle in BR1-2, semi auto rifle in BR3-4 and auto rifle in BR5). However they come equipped with a hammer as a secondary weapon, allowing them to build game-winning structures such as rally points (points where your allies can respawn), field gun such as PaK 40 75mm for the germans and others like sandbags and barbed wire.
Even if you don’t use the engineer squad, you can still put one engineer in most squads, allowing you to build the most important tool to win matches : rally points
A good strategy for a new player (in my opinion) would be to first unlock the low cost weapons/squads like MP-28 and PzB 38 in your case, and then go for the engineer squad.
There are several different good strategies for new players. The most important thing is to play the way that is the most fun for you. If you start not having fun, switch it up. Nothing you will do to build yourself “one way” will lock you in and prevent you from playing another way. Just be a touch careful as you spend the silver that you earn from battles. I would suggest not upgrading weapons with silver until you have used the squad upgrade points to make the upgrades cost -40%.
When I was a new player, I leaned heavily on my sniper squad. I kept the squad small so that they were easier to hide. I used them to be able to compete against players with better equipment. Pick something out at BR3 or BR4 that you see and want then target the upgrades in that pathway.
When I started playing the game last July (in campaign mode), I jumped straight into Normandy as the Allies. Their starting equipment is ahistorical and you start with WWI rifles. My very first goal was to get the M1 Carbine, which I was able to accomplish in just a few days of playing. You’re in luck starting the game now because the research tree has been unified. Previously, progress you earned in one campaign didn’t carry over to other campaigns. You also previously couldn’t choose your research path; the weapons were ordered in a pre-determined order of progression and you had to reach the appropriate level to unlock a weapon that caught your eye.
Also before merge there was no BR so your fresh understaffed and underequiped squads faced full-auto rifles, bombers, tanks you couldn’t penetrated from distance…
Pay attention to BR and rather go wide than deep in one tree as it will catapult you to late game technology where you would get punished for not having MGs, proper AT weapons, etc. I’d stop at BRII and make sure I have BRII tank, mg, smg, rifle before rushing to BRIII without proper equipment.
Pick the MP34 - it has a large enough magazine and just good enough rate of fire to carry you into the late game. Then once you unlock MP40, slowly start replacing your MP34s. Then keep playing with MP40 until you have enough Silver to try out things you like, or completely save your silver for BR5.
Most German rifles are not much better than your starting bolt actions - and MGs have terrible movement penalties.
Just stick with MP40s and MP34s until you can get STGs, Sniper MKbs or FG42s.
Kiraly and the last 40 rounder Beretta are also great picks.
