New Saboteur class is actually a cool addition - hear me out

Hello comrades!

The new upcoming saboteur class is actually a cool addition and not OP, let me tell you why:

Not OP because:

  • spawning with a single soldier means if you get killed you have to do a whole new respawn instead of just switching to the next attacker (means objective combat effectiveness is low)
  • a single soldier got limited ammunition supplies and can not fire as much as a whole assaulter or guerilla squad
  • Remember the soviet premium mortar squad with the automatic grenadelauncher? we all know its usage is that limited that barely anyone uses it.

Why it is a cool addition:

  • the uniform mechanic would be really unique. Enlisted got mortars, flamethrowers, bikers and paratroopers. Those are rarely used classes in any video game despite being really unique and fun to play as. Playing sneaky as a saboteur could be really fun and unique too.

But those are just my thoughts. Please do not jump me now :upside_down_face:

Having your squad wiped by a “friendly” who is actually a spy. Not my idea of fun. Surely unique enough to make me quit Enlisted.

The won’t fight against enemy
They’ll just running around and destory rally

And we’ll start to randomly fire at friendly when seeing soldier without their squad. Cause no one want to let a bastard sneak in the line and destorying whole teams rally. And other guy watching enlisted clip will just wonder why player in this game just kept shooting friendly every few step.

Well since rallies are so damn important, I think it suck that more and more mechanics are getting added to fight them.

Rallies should fall with a successful push - not by luck based random backdoor trolls.

tbh i dont see it changing the game… bad players will be bad with or without this class. good players can get to enemy rally points with normal squads and destroy or troll the rally points(lately have been building barbed wires on enemy rally points for fun).

only thing that could change is if good players take saboteur soldier is that shit players will lose cap points really fast. otherwise 0 impact to the game.

If they’re gonna be added they might as well be a small team. This is a squad based shooter

I don’t care for it as long as it can be told apart via the disguised enemy not having the “friendly” blue marker atop his head or appearing on map. Good awareness should counter it, next thing is how this class goes against moral ethics of warfare since it’s quite literally class for committing war crimes.

Oh yeah and it completely kills Lonefigher hardcore. I know many won’t care for it, but even trying to imagine playing it with this class in-game is impossible.

there is no friendly fire, so you can easily shoot any suspicious lone soldier not charging forward to enemy…

as for lonefighter… it should be forbidden on it… but it is not like they care about this game mode…

Dunno, just wondering who is gonna go to the CPs at this point.

lol. If getting killed by what’s functionally an improved guerrilla with a disguise then maybe it’s for the best such innovative things (speaking in terms of this game) make you quit.

Also… kudos on using the classic “i’ll just quit the game if you add X thing i don’t like”

Game play is already low as half the people in the game still don’t know how to be effective…this is just going to make it worse as you pointed out. People are going to rage quit more and more matches now and everyone is going to be wasting ammo shooting teamates in case they are the enemy. The game is going to suffer especially when no one asked for this.

Not correct this is how rally points should work.

The solution to this problem is really simple, just pre-make the spawn points and put 100 of them on each side of the objective with the closest ones being 125m from the objective. The reason you need one hundred spawn points is also simple. If the enemy decides to wait in the spawn point or around it within a certain distance, the game excludes that spawn point from being used entirely and you have 99 more to choose from. Each spawn point should also be shielded from direct fire and vision via actual cover for a short distance so we at least have a chance to break out of the spawn point if the enemy is firing through a doorway or any other geometry that has a partial look in on the objective. There should also be many ways to get out of the spawn point, this makes it hard for the enemy to trap you in through one choke point. This idea outright eliminates the need to build spawn points so people can focus on the objective and not wasting time.

I can’t tell you how many times the rally imbalance causes the team to lose; this all happens at the expense of needing to build a rally point for the sake of building a rally point. It makes absolutely no sense. Again, I went over this in my post you refuse to read “What balance really means again”.

I’m still hoping this is just an april fool’s joke.
Saboteurs suck, just like guerrilla’s, totally unrealistic.
Bad idea adding this to the game.
This is a fast paced game in a small environment.
There is no time or space to keep looking out for some stupid saboteur among your team.
The only good thing is that they will be limited to event rewards and not added to the TT.
It would be better to have them only in an april fools event, not in the base game.
Sorry to say it but that’s what it is.

All that time spent on a team fortress class unfitting for the games intent could have been better spent giving us the 12 more maps we needed last year, and ditching/ modifying the ones we down voted in the fake map preference section that was reported as checked off on the fake road map.

What you think it is*

i think its a good addition. Lets see how the devs decide.

Also i wanted go add, the AG-2 grenadelauncher of the soviet premium squad was also very much hated by the community. they still added it. And it turned out to be cpmpletely useless and no one remembers that it exists… so the saboteurs might be the same. So those who do not like it might not even notice it often
