@iso_seppo123 found out about the new weapon skins for this halloween event. After inspecting them in the editor, i saw that they got really awesome details, take a look:
Mixed feelings to be honest, at least they’re more subtle than the blood covered guns of previous years, but guns like the Hyde and type hei wouldn’t have been in use let alone decorated by troops.
Mostly concur. I would prefer if prototype weapons were not really in the game in the first place as well. That being said, the theme of mud and personalized soldier carvings is WAY better than bloody weapons. Despite having prototype weapons, these skins do NOT detract from historical immersion!
A real soldier takes care of their weapon, you wouldn’t want to go into battle with a gun prone to jamming due to blood and gore. Which is why I refuse to use them.
As for the original topic itself:
I quite prefer this form of implementation. Right now I am just waiting for the bad news to arrive that the Patchett will only be obtainable through the event, when really it’d fit perfectly in the tech tree next to the sole BR III option, the M1928A1 Thompson.
I wish they’d make tech tree additions outside of major updates, because between every update a few new event weapons get added that’d be perfect for the tech tree but the Devs always want to add event weapons.
I actually just think they’re just bad at deciding what should and shouldn’t be in the tech tree. Just for the Commonwealth for example, there are so many prototypes that could be added that wouldn’t tread on the toes that are more tech tree worthy, but for some reason they seem to be drawing lots rather than thinking things through properly.
