Enlisted hasn’t reached it’s official release yet, however, even as a work in progress it’s potential is obvious and cannot be denied. What I propose is nowhere near priority however I wish for my ideas to be at least considered.
The potential I see is for Enlisted to make bigger battles and smaller battles. Even longer battles.
What we currently have us great, but it only appears as a small portion of the rest the battles fought. In terms of bigger battles I mean we can go further with larger maps, more strategic zones, more players, maybe more destructibles, and longer battles. We could truly immerse ourselves in historic battles that last an hour or two in real life but may reflect multiple days in game. For things to mix Enlisted with to accomplish what I mean I suggest the game Bladestorm.
As for the modes being smaller, we could have small espionage like modes, or even hostage situations. These smaller situations could even be part of the bigger, being considered night operations. Consider mixing with ideas from Rainbow Six Siege or Henderson’s Boys.
We could go even bigger, for an event there could be a live tracker of what territories have been taken by what nation and we could have the player base recreate the war they imagine.
I love what Enlisted is currently and I always want to see it improve, in addition I also want to see it go big. I love the immersion and historical accuracy it has right now and all that may improve. All the aforementioned ideas could be stand alone events, be a twitch rivals pitch, or permanent modes. I say this idea has potential to really make the game big and increase the player base and community cooperation.
I’m not opposed to this.
That said, my concern is with solo players in comparison to groups in large scale fights.
(Hear me out.)
Groups dislike having to carry solo players that are just there for more “casual” play.
Meanwhile solo players hate trying to take on groups.
Make the really large maps have a requirement of group size in order to get into. This is to better guarantee coordination and cooperation. Meanwhile, make the really small gamemodes like conquest only available for solo players. Conquest is simply a game mode that usually lacks coordination, but if you have a group that is coordinated, it absolutely dominates.
Just a suggestion, and something to possibly explore further.
True and fair, which is why if you don’t want to play against big groups you play what we currently have. If you want to play against big groups then play what I suggest. The problem fixes itself when we implement the idea.
My point is that an actual requirement needs to be implemented with it. Otherwise you will still have solo players jumping into it and still having the issues we do now with lack of coordination and balance because of it.
I think they could definitely make conquest a much more interesting mode. Controlling various zones giving extra tank or plane slots for the team, or another that lets 2 artillery be active at once etc. Let alone the modes they could refine or add in over time.
Then there is the potential of official historical battles set as events for people to play. I can definitely see an enlisted with many different things people can enjoy
