I’ll make this short in case a developer reads this, this game mode can entice people to purchase premium squads.
THIS IS A GAME MODE TO TEST OUT PREMIUM INFANTRY SQUADS IN A UNIQUE WAY.
WIP name of the new game mode is Brothers. Brothers is a game mode that will exclusively use premium squads from EVERY instance of a premium squad that is NOT vehicular. I will explain why there can be no tanks or airplanes in a little while.
Brothers will be free for anyone to play, but with a catch. If you OWN the premium squad you are going to use, you get x1.5 the amount of XP per kill with the squad. If you do NOT own the premium squad, you only get the x1.0 benefit. This is ONE incentive for people to purchase a premium squad in a nut shell.
But let’s talk about the game mode itself, what is Brothers? This will be a game mode that will define cooperative play more than Squads. In Brothers, you and three other people, (This can be in a pre-determined squad setup before you enter the game mode OR it can be joined with x amount of random people) will play ONE soldier out of a FOUR man squad.
Since every single player will control only ONE member of the squad at a whole, it can be said that this is a child between Squad and Lone Wolf. In Lone Wolf, you control ONE member of you squad at a time. But in Squads, you play as an entire squad individually. Brothers will twist that by only controlling one soldier at a time per squad.
There will be FIVE total squads to choose in the beginning, but first come first serve on the one you pick. These are the squads: Trooper, Gunner, Sniper, Engineer, and Radio. This means that this game mode will be a 5v5 or 20v20 (total people) game mode.
This will also be an infantry ONLY game mode.
Before every match begins, there will be a TEN second buffer for the HOST of the squad to choose their first choice. HOST is chosen by the normal way a squad with four members before the game starts OR at random to one of the four in the squad you end up in. There can NOT be any duplicate squads BEFORE the game begins. This is to promote active play on each unique squad and for EVERYONE involved to TEST the weapons out BEFORE a purchase.
If people FEEL the sense of the weapon, and like how it functions, it’s a purchase majority of the time.
Brothers will also have a unique mechanic that acts as Infantry Resupply Positions. There will be FOUR IRP’s on EVERY map. TWO of them are for the Enemy Team. Treat IRP’s as your NORMAL spawning locations when you ENTER the map. Let’s say three members of your squad dies on you. You have two choices now. Your first choice is to go out guns blazing and fight your way solo OR to retreat and REVIVE your squad at an IRP. Doing this will resupply you with full ammo and health and add every deceased member back to life. But why go through all the hassle to revive your team if things go sideways?
This is where the game mode takes another turn. Brothers is a ONE life system. If you die and your Brothers do NOT go to an IRP, you have to WAIT/SPECTATE your Brother until he gets killed. Brothers is a game mode where you are at the mercy of your team. Strong communication and directions will be critical in this mode.
Every single soldier per squad is only allowed ONE IRP respawn at a time. That means if you revived your team, and they all died again, your only option is to go down fighting. But, if you revive everyone, and you die, another member of your team is free to save you. This can happen FOUR times per separate player if the situation arrives.
When everyone in your squad dies, the HOST now controls which squad to pick based on communication. From the moments of being dead, you can text chat or voice via discord to your team to choose with squad you all would like to try next.
This has been a mock draft of Brothers. If you would like to see this game mode, notify the developers.
