Hello,
As a dolphin player and fan of Enlisted, I want to share some ideas that could help to improve the game experience: the ability to “Lend-Lease”
Allow players to lend unused reserve squad (except premium squad) to other players at the start of the battle. You can select one squad as “leased”, equip them with leftover (or overpowered) gear but cannot use that squad in battle, only their teammate can use them.
The players can pick their own squad or from a list of “Leased squads” available from teammates. The players who borrow the squad will still gain campaign exp but must pay 10-20% exp to the lender. Leased squad will gain squad exp at a slower rate and have a long cooldown depend on the type of squad. For example: rifle and engineer, radio has faster cool down while MG and SMG, tank, plane have longer cool down.
It is best used for players with plenty of weapons and soldiers lying around. Premium players can lend multiple squads while F2P players can only lend 1. The disadvantage of this function is the borrower cannot gain their squad and soldier exp if they only use lent squad.
The goal of this function is to allow new or under-leveled player to occasionally “taste” the benefit of high-level gear while still putting some restrictions. Also, it helps to reduce the level gap in matchmaking so the battle will not feel too technological one-side if there is at least 1-2 players have resources available that can contribute to the weight of the team.
I hope this function will help to attract new players for they can have a random chance of trial run the game at a high level. I saw many players and my friend give up grinding before they get their favorite, so I hope to give them some motivation.
Kind regards,
HB

this is against the progression system and monetization of the game, it will never see the light of day

I don’t think it would run counter to monetization, but it would give newer players an option other than always playing their crap early squads with their crap weapons and no way to quickly get new troops without spending cash. I approve.

I don’t think so. This is a popular strategy in marketing where they have a small sample of food for customers to try. I also play a gatcha game where you can run a gatcha character in a limited time in an event so it is not too alient to F2P game model. In this mode, there is no guarantee that leased squad will have high end gear, mostly leftover stuff from the owner so don’t put too much expectation.
The main idea is there, even if part of the new function is implemented or listened is fine by me. The progression in Enlisted is huge, roughly 2000h to finish. It also adds to progression when you cannot level up your own squad and pay lease fee campaign exp to the lender compared to using your own squad. Also, more severe restrictions can be added to the leased squad so it cannot be abused.
I know fully well that this is not complete but i hope to build up the ideas. Not just doom and gloom mood.
Why in the world would a company invest resources in something that returns nothing to them to even cover the cost of developing this function?
Gajin/DF already requires that a weapon must be available and unlocked in the receiving campaign before the existing weapon transfer mechanic will work. I don’t think that there is any way possible that entire squads and weapons would be allowed to be transferred if the player “leasing” the squad did not already have everything equally unlocked & upgraded and then….why would they want to “lease” it.
It makes zero business sense.
I don’t think lease is kind of transfer, it only available in battle, you cannot carry over campaign. When you unlock squad, there is some squad have to put out for new squad and it can be used as leasing. With the limited soldier right now, and upcoming weapon system, i don’t think anyone can have fully build troop and high gear weapon available for leasing, just leftover stuff which no where to put can be used to “lease”.
I still lacking some business sense however that depend on Gaijin/DF, not mine and yours. With the new system, i think Gajin/DF is overfishing instead.
Kind,
The same reason they allow premium squads be tested for free in practice - to make it more appealing to grind.
If they limit this leasing to 1 match/day, I think it might actually work.
It’s not a bad suggestion. A lot of people whine about matchmaking being unfair and other irrelevant reasons for them having troubles in game such as weapons difference (when the starter BA can down anyone)
What I love is a big diversity of squads and weapons encountered in match, you never know against what you’ll be pitted on and that makes the game interesting and motivate me to grind.
Such system would allow newcomers (or veterans starting new campaigns) to use so called “op” weapons or vehicles and thus deny them the excuse: “if I’m bad It’s because matchmaking is unfair and my enemy has better stuff!”
Also I could check out someone else’s favourite perk combinations and compare it to mine. Though I think it’s quite hard to know the soldiers’ buildout in-game. Not that I played with anyone teaming up in this game, so this is just pure theory on my side.
