Not sure if it was due to balancing reasons or something else, but I was really excited to get to play the new event squads I did every task up till this round to get the German squad just to find out they are locked to BR 5. I wouldn’t have too much of a problem with it, but since the campaigns are locked behind BR’s I like to keep my army at BR 3 to get as much variety as possible. unless It’s for balancing reasons is there plans to possibly let us change the weapons of such squads?

Unfornately no since the Horn StG is an Assault Rifle as so far it’s at minimum of BR V for such weapon types similiar to MkB 42 (H) being BR V.
That’s unfortunate, I was hoping it was possible in the near future since the Paratrooper squads for the Soviets was able to. Just don’t see much point in getting the next special assaults squads if you are forced into BR V.

I’m glad they’re BR 5 just because they are late war prototypes and I only want to see them in the last phase of the war
Yea sure, the weapons being BR 5 is 100% understandable. Just wanted to use the squad itself outside of BR 5.

unfortunately, they are an event assault squad with paratrooper skins.
( which 90% of the event squads at least, being infantry, their main weapons cannot be changed )
as they are not actually paratroopers.
and as far, as you noted, only soviets paratroopers squads can change their weapons.

The MKb-42 (H) doesn’t belong in BR V either. But if you want to narrow it down to the assault rifle category, the MKb-35 is BR II.
Plus, event and premium squads should not be looking at their weapons in a vacuum. The Horn StG and StG-45(m) squads both have 4 assaulters and and engineer with an assault rifle, none of which can get vitality. The Horn StG squad can’t even get sprint speed. All in all, a regular assaulter squad would have four assaulters with a better assault rifle, a machine gunner, an AT trooper with an automatic rifle at the BR the weapons have been placed, and an engineer with another automatic rifle.
Even if they were at BR3 it wouldn’t exactly be meta with their loss of critical perks and lack of a hugely useful AT with a panzerfaust.

Funny, the Horn StG squad is the weakest BR5 Assault squad of all consider in other german assault squad you can get:
-6 people with StG44s and 1 with whatever weapon
-5 people with StG44s, 1 AT and 1 Engi
-5 people with StG44s and 2 Engi
-4 people with StG44s, 1 AT, 1 Engi and 1 MG gunner
-4 people with StG44s, 2 Engis and 1 MG gunner
And that only for High BR, cuz they can switch weapons can go to other BR
They need a buff, maybe having more soldiers and having the sprint perks too.
I really like the Horn StG, it feels better the StG 45.
