New costs, after consideration

Perks should have their own separate option where you can choose what perks you want to achieve at the highest levels according to your play style and the way you use your soldier. In other words, it would be as skills that improve depending on how you use your soldiers. You want max vitality - you try not to die, the longer you last the available squad, etc., and same with other perks.

I think it’s easy enough to do. Because the less this game will have unnecessary rng mechanics and the building of soldiers will be handed over to the player with full tools, the better.

No, that’s not it.

I might be wrong but:
You should keep your 3 primary stats. But the amount of perks you can choose won’t be limited by some star amount (max 5) anymore. You could take 10 cheap perks if you wished.

Yeah I remember now.

Because primary stats amount have small effects on the soldier behavior. A soldier with more green stat (I think) will have more stamina (or was it regen) than one with less.

Which makes soldiers with decent stats more important…

Unfortunately I havent been able to find the post to confirm, but I swear I read here somewhere that random stats would be normalised. And Im not the only one that seems to remember it.

Also that stars would be replaced

But…

Vault cat said herself in the news thread that stats will stay randomized.

I’ll try to find it, gimme a sec

This also implies getting attributes with levels instead of stars…doesnt mention if its still capped

Here.

Sorry, stats will stay rng it seems. Which makes costs exaggerated imo.

Well i guess they know best. I just know there was a post about removing the rng from soldier attributes months ago…

But as I cant find it…what i remember appears invalid.

There was a thing about removing RNG, just not what you think.

Now when you choose perks, you have to pick one from random 3. In the new system you will have acces to all perks to chose from, no randomness.

Yeah I remember that too, but as a seperate entry because that was easily understandable.

There was something else along these lines

They should have decided to remove the annoying Tier system of soldier all along. At the end, Assaulter II (if the first Assaulter is medic) and Flamer 2 were actually usefull.
Just confusing and makes Premium and Event Squads a hell to level-up. Best examples those riflesquads in Tunisia.

Quite frankly, if that rng part of buying a soldier were to be removed, or fixed with one of my suggestions above…

I’d be fine with proposed prices.

“Dont worry guys. RNG of levels and stars for soldiers and guns are no issue in the future. Fuck RNGesus.”
“Oh wait, RNG is still there but that is okay for us.”

Hey @EdVanSchleck , as a tester, what do you think of it?

@James_Grove would it be worthy to send to the devs for them to see?

Would removing stats rng or allow us to “buy, or train” soldiers to reach “perfect” stats be a good idea?

Think the devs could look at it? Because apart from this (very important) point, prices seems ok.

I don’t see a problem with random stats imo, but when dev server gonna be launched, helpers team surely will collect all available feedback about changes that will be on dev-server.

True!

That test server, when can we try it? (If that’s not confidential information)

I’ll give it a spin and give feedback as a concerned player.

All i can say is: Very Soon*tm

Hi Joe,
as a player I share your concern.
as a tester and part of the enlisted team I can tell you that we need to wait the official testing servers to see how it will fly with the gameplay at all. Last words are not spoken.

Removing it would be great. Stat distribution amongst different classes of troops is already ridiculous. Ie. a rank 3, 5 star sniper can’t obtain the vitality perk, while a potato rank 1 5 star rifleman in theory can.
Ironic, that they are removing the star level RNG (lootboxism) but keeping the stat RNG in the game.

Adding a system to somehow “perfect” a troop stat wise, I would enjoy it. Even if it takes ie. actual time spent in battles by the troop or spending resources on it, I would take that over praying to RNGesus.

Same goes for various current perk builds. Some are unreachable due to stat limits on X class. Negative stat “bonuses” are pointless imo. But this may change, so won’t discuss it further or go into details.

Yes, that’s what James reminded me. Test server makes me hopeful:

It means the devs will actively collect feedback. It’s then that perhaps, hopefully, they will listen to our concerns.

Honestly, all those new prices would be fine to me, weren’t for the rng stats of bought soldiers.

I mean… I play since almost 3 years, and started but recently to upgrade my men to class 3 & 4 (with decent to perfect stats)! With those prices… I don’t see how buying multiple rank 4 guys at 11500 silver in the hope of getting a single one with good stats will be possible…

I wish people of Reddit wouldn’t be so delusional about maths trying to prove how much more beneficial the new eco will be - when you just can’t get a decent roll troop worth upgrading.
