Very similiar soldiers to Radiomen, but with alot more options. They’d be equipped with a Pistol, a Whistle and Binoculars at start. Also specialised in Assault Class weapons. Officers could choose commands using the whistle which will give effects on soldiers around the commanding area. There will also be a special logos shown on map depending on the chosen action.
Could have 3 options to choose from the whistle and the effects last only a few minutes:
Advance - Slight HP raise for soldiers, more melee damage, more chance to get into knocked state on a fatal blow due to the adrenaline. (Blue arrow on the map pointing towards the enemy shows up. Only applies effects on soldiers who are near the blue arrow.)
Flank - Unlocks a choosen area on the map for the soldiers to be allowed to flank the enemy. (That grid on the map shows up in a slightly different color than the normally accessible zones. Also raises Stamina capacity and Stamina regeneration and increase the speed of the soldiers. ( Applies effects only in the unlocked barrier).
Fortify position - accuracy raise for soldiers, Aids more building materials for engineers for the duration of the effect and faster building. (A shield on the map shows up at the place of the Officer’s command. Only applies the effect on soldiers in that area).
Base Equipment (Assault Class):
Pistols, (Depends on the campaign map and the side)
Whistle, (Base commanding item, would allow officers to command allies)
Binoculars, (Scouting item, would help in scouting enemies on the map)
Optionally can be equipped with Submachineguns.

NO as in the other 70 topics about the officer and the doctor (who is just another assaulter)

Good god do we need more ways for people to be useless in the back? So many camping classes already

That’s what the Officer’s “Advance” command could solve. I actually had the campers in my mind. Overally, I have no issues with campers, that’s how most people should be playing, but… well… gamemode is too much of a “rush” sided gameplay. That’s why the advance command would help out. And as those effects would be only given to people who are near the location of the command, (f.e.: The road they got called to advance on or The location they were asked to defend) many people would be more likely to be there in the zone providing a bit of a “feat”. That’s what the officer I suggested could solve. Currently there are no positive feats for the people being on the frontline, therefore it doesn’t attract much people. Or perhaps there should be a gamemode similiar to what they did in Verdun. Verdun’s gamemode is like… territory conquest. One side advances, other one retreats and this goes back and forth. If the enemy gets the weaker side, they lose a point, if it they get the upper hand next time, they might take that lost zone back. Right now the game is too “1 sided” going only forward. A new gamemode benefiting camping wouldn’t be bad.
I would say it’s partly the playerbases fault for this though.
- People complain about Conquest, leaving Invasion as main mode
- Invasion has a “defender” and “attacker” side
- The core objective of the “defender” is to defend the objective, aka camping the objective
- Devs increase the defender’s success in camping the objective
Ultimately, there’s nothing wrong with camping. If you aren’t camping and defending the objective, chances are you’re contributing the your teams loss.
Those orders could work in a more arcade game. For example they work really well in the Battlefront II from EA. But imo they don’t fit enlisted, it’s hard for me to explain. Let’s call it a “feeling”.
Also no, we don’t need another full auto weapon class. We already have gunners, assaulters and medics (aka assaulters 1.1).

Then Pistol locked, possibly.
I would be ok with an NCO or something that can use SMGs or Rifles because I hate being forced to have either a SMG or LMG in my riflemen squad while other squads get both.
This topic never gets old.
Rather cause the AI is still to dumb to make such a system… usefull.

So far AI is a wasted potential.
Change my mind.

Still the sole reason why this game is interesting though… sadly.

Yeah, full agree.
Personally I don’t care about new lvls/campaign, I want an AI update.
An update that will finally make them sth more than meat.
