New Battle Pass shop: buyer's guide and discussion

As usual, most of us probably want tips about how to beat spend our hard-earned gold orders, particularly when it comes to golden weapons.
There appears to be no such thread yet, so here we go.

I can start the thread by sharing a quick overview of the new 97 rounds Soviet SMG:

APPEARANCE / COOL FACTOR:
From a “uniqueness” standpoint, it is visually very similar to a regular PPD (nobody else looking at you will probably notice the difference at first sight). The gun looks slightly bulkier in first person view.

It’s got a very comfortable open sight, granting both easy aiming and open visual.

PERFORMANCES:
If you’re new to the Soviet faction in a campaign, get it and don’t regret it. Just like the BRAMIT, it’s a shortcut to the magical world of late campaign Russian SMGs, where every bullet is a tear on a Wehraboo’s face.

If you’re already familiar with drum fed PPD or PPSH, and have all your assaulters equipped with them, is this SMG still worth a gold order? IMO, yes.

It’s not just about the larger drum: this gun fires at lower RPM than other Soviet SMGs (800 instead of 1000+), which is arguably better, because it’s still high enough to deliver heavy DPS and quick kills while wasting less ammo, making a drum last even longer, and improving accuracy and recoil control.

TLDR:
Basically, it’s a PPD with even better accuracy and even more ammo. Recommended for both starters and veterans.

Fun fact: I don’t know if it’s a bug, but somehow the overlapping sound effect of shots sounds like the gun “revs down” when you stop firing. XD

What about Walther Mkb42?

It’s identical to the MKB-42 H in everyway, decent starter SMG for Moscow, Berlin, or Normandy, after you get the STG/MP43 it’s use outside appearance becomes questionable

I still haven’t bought it, but that’s what I imagined, thanks.

Also, I think it looks like a '50s sci-fi version of the regular MP43

TBF I bought four of them for Berlin because they reminded me of Wolfenstein and I had gold orders to spare from the last two BPs being extremely mediocre

I’m saddened by the lack of 100rds Thompson.

its all fucking over priced and mostly usless

Bro, we’re talking about golden weapons and such here, not premium squads.

That’s exactly the point of this thread, sorting out the gems among the junk.

and how much work do you put in to get just one
for what just to have a different name pop up in the kill feed for a few seconds. or to have a diffrent visual

Buying premium BP once, and then playing normally?

Man, I get you’re disgruntled because no Aussie server, but no need to poop on this party. Of all the possible things to complain about, golden weapons? These are just a niche detail.

Since we are at it, would you recommend more the Suomi or the MKB as a reinforcement for my axis assaulters in Moscow?

I’m not even mid-campaign yet there, and it will be quite some time before I unlock regular MKBs…

Real men use the Gehwer 1888.

Suomi all the way.

Why?

Because the gold mkb42 is almost identical to the last unlock. It’s not really better than the last unlock by a huge margin, so all there is to it is it’s looks and that’s a question of taste.

The Suomi however. It packs a bit less punch but:

  • 35 bullets
  • has NO recoil!!!
  • MINIMAL dispersion, ridiculously accurate (for an smg)
  • good rof, not too low, not too high
  • bonus: it SOUNDS like some Soviet smgs do! Which means a vet will be less attracted to your “ratatatata” than if you used a weapon with a more distinctive sound like mp40 kiraly etc.

Edit: you said you won’t unlock mkb for a while, but it still doesn’t matter. The mkb42… is not that great a “smg”. It’s good! But not great. It’s dispersion is… it’s just nausea inducing. I personally prefer the Kiraly.

And I STILL use the Suomi in my squads to this day. It never failed me.

I still have, and use, it

In my dedicated marksmen squad. It’s a good rifle.

Thanks. Before buying it, though, I’m gonna wait November and see if there is a sale on old golden weapons again.

I’m waiting for that since a year  so many to buy now…

But no way Im wasting money with those dumb prices!

Stendo Type Hei is fun but should have been the LMG version with bipod gun shield and 20rd mag

I was playing my Shpitalny in Berlin yesterday, and while storming Hitler’s bunker I happened to casually spot behind a corner a full enemy squad whose bots were already busy engaging in another direction.

OhYeahBoy.jpg

As the first ones started to fall, more and more kept coming out of the corner, just to be minced by a never-ending stream of bullets.

It was glorious.

This baby is unironically a recoilless MG in disguise.
