Even in a scenario where i can cover the objective with an mg42 from a range, what’s stopping them all just piling onto the objective between reloads of the pitiful 50 round mags since it’s also inaccurate enough to be less effective at ranged fire
I even bipod my p most of the time only lmg i can think off never/rarely bipoding is the bar

So you want a gun to do long range while it’s both inaccurate and has to reload every 4 seconds
it cant hit shit at 300 m it takes half a clip to fully kill a dude while fg42 1 shots everything no matter the range
50 rounds are in deed a bit limiting.
But accuracy is high enough for countersniping.

I can hit anyone at 200m with a bolt action without sights, the gun suprisingly eats 50 rounds quickly when you’re firing it at 900rpm even in bursts
its not an smg like bar isn’t an lmg
You can call it what you want, that’s what it acts like so that’s what I’ll call it
any lmg has to be mounted to be actually useful for long range and while mounted becomes basically a laser beam
hip or non-mount is only useful for close to mid range
