Neuter the artillery spam

The cooldown with the perk should 100% be 2min at the minimum. 4 minutes without.
This is honestly taking the fun out of the game constantly being under artillery or spawning in at the beginning and seeing 5 different arty circles instantly appear.

I’m all for increasing the cooldown, but in that case artillery damage should be increased slightly. Right now it’s an effective area denial weapon but it’s not actually very devastating.

Aye cooldown needs to go way up. Im fine with a bit more dmg or give the option to make it more concentrated if the radio squad uses it

Artillery dmg is kinda weak tbh, I played as a Radio Man all game with 30 sec on and i can’t even get 20 Kills. Max you can get is around 15 or so and its RNG dependent, Mortar Man is much better

I do agree with nerfing the timer, but the Damage of Artillery should be increased to be much more deadlier

The psychological effect of artillery on players is massively more than its ability to actually delete little pixel soldiers!

Cry cry cry is all I hear WW2 had bombs and arty lots of them so get use to it

It also had actual death, “trench foot”, tuberculosis, and, you know, no Internet. So where do you draw the line on how realistic you want it to be?
Besides, none of the sides had unlimited resources to just keep bombing the place. They all mostly used artillery barrages right before the attack, not during it.

I guess the reasonable conclusion is that it just needs to be balanced. Being bombarded and stunned is part of the game, but artillery spamming just devalues the experience. In terms of immersion, when I get shelled and concussed for the fifth time in a match I’m more likely to be annoyed with the game than immersed.

They should just make artillery have friendly fire effects and have spawn timer punishment for people who kill their own team with it. That way people won’t spam them recklessly. Same with mortar. Each friendly fire casualty=30 second timer or somehting

They do cause friendly casualties.

I know because a puma drove straight into my artillery strike and died :confused:

yes I’ve noticed that I occasionally kill team mates

Mortars and planes should also cause friendly fire. My mate recently just carpet bombs the ‘fight’ area just infront of friendly troopers because he knows that’s how to get kills, even if in reality he’d be wiping out half our team with each run hahah

Exactly, the game becomes a joke now. A 20g with 500 lb bombs drops the bomb 500 yards off, it blows you up anyway.

constant arty and plane ruin the game.
Never will I pay for a game which I spawn and get killed within seconds by arty.

rising storm 2 vietnam do every good on arty balance
every time commander calls in arty, he has a great chance killing his teamates.
that will be a lot realistic and requires commander to be cautious when orders arty fire
