I just love how it was supposed to be a cheaper and more efficient alternative to the Thompson but turned out to be more expensive and harder to produce

I remember seeing it was one of the few weapons the Chinese were able to domestically produce during the war.
I know Im a bit late to this, but having just picked up the founders pack with the hyde I feel its appropriate to give my thoughts on the m2. IRL, the M2 was known for being a steady and accurate SMG with a low rate of fire but packing decent stopping power with its .45 acp round. The gun could hold 20 and 30 round stick magazines (the same as the M1 Thompsons). It was lighter than the Thompson but much more accurate in full auto thanks to its slower rate of fire.
In game, the M2 is a fast firing, laser accurate beast that two hits everything. After only a couple of uses I’ve run into multiple situations where I run into a full squad at 30 meters and kill most of them with a single magazine and finish the downed ones with the next. Its rate of fire is actually about 70 rounds less than it was IRL but honestly a faster fire rate would break the gun. I also think it should only be able to use 20 round magazines (as currently is). The biggest issue comes down to damage. Currently, its base damage is set to 6.8 (the same as the m3 Grease guns) but they come fully upgraded so they have 8.2 damage per round. This practically guarantees a down in two hits no matter where you shoot. Personally, I think a reduction to 7.8 upgraded (6.5 base and the same as the M1911) would be a good start to trying to balance the gun. However, its likely that an even lower base damage would be necessary with how accurate it is when firing full auto. Comparing to the german smgs it is better in every single way (although the german smgs definitely need a buff).
