Hey guys, now I know you’re just not going to believe this, but did you know that guerillas and partisans were usually composed of poorly trained and equipped civilians with little to no military back ground? And weren’t used as elite ammo vomiting clean up squads like how they’re exclusively used in-game? Haha how weird am I right!?[poll type=regular results=always chartType=bar]
Well, even if Guerillas in real life were poorly trained, how are you going to incoperate poor training into a game where you’re the one controlling the soldier? NTM, you’re AI already doesn’t follow orders, they don’t keep up, they are always in your way when you want to shoot, they stand out in the open begging to be shot, so, how can you make them even more poorly trained?
Give them randomized inputs instead of regular inputs, that would be hellish enough for people’s.
yeah honestly I don’t think they need and de buffs on top of what they already have. Guerrillas are already on the back-foot seeing as they are 5 men and don’t get the tons and tons of perk points like assaulter 4’s. Plus as you say the AI has a room temp IQ in Degrees Celsius.
Yeah, they should be renamed to diversants and seperate irregular/partisan squads should be made. The guerillas in this game are more of special forces soldiers than partisans or militia.
No but the 8th Reconnaissance Regiment (Japan) and 1st Agas Party (Allies) were. Lumping them all into poorly trained auxiliaries ignores the fact that that’s not the extent of what is covered by Guerillas
At least in the game, the Japanese version are portrayed as military infiltration units; in reality, however specifically regarding the Soviets it was a considerable matter, even though, as you say, the people involved often lacked military training and weren’t always as effective as the game depicts. You only have to look at the Western Front: the French Resistance’s reputation stems largely from postwar propaganda designed to show that the French actually played a important role in the war. The saboteurs, on the other hand, actually bore the names of special forces units.
Also they are useful when there’s a tank sniping from the grey zone, just yesterday i see a simple KV1 stoping a entire advance, the even worst is that it was a BR2 match where ATs can’t do too much, in other hand a guerrilla with a AT mine is something else
